US strikes Iran after Strait of Hormuz cargo ship attack as ceasefire tensions escalate -- U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Friday via X that American forces struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations as well as radar sites in response to Tehran’s attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. -CENTCOM said the strikes came after Iran hit the Singapore-flagged cargo ship M/V Ever Lovely with a one-way attack drone on June 25 while the vessel was exiting the Strait along the Omani coast.- --- The command called Iran's attack an “unwarranted aggression” that violated the ceasefire and undermined freedom of navigation through the waterway.
