ICE Thug Murders Person In Minnesota

However, I would still prefer that 2,000 murderers go free than one innocent person go to prison for murder.

I think the thousands of families who are victims of illegal murderers, rapists and other violent criminals would disagree

"Illegal murderers"...as opposed to "legal murderers"??

Oh yeah, Donald Trump!

Trump just pardoned 32 people this week including a second pardon for someone convicted of fraud.   He pardoned her I his first term for a fraud conviction,    She immediately committed fraud again and was convicted.  Now he's pardoning her again.

fraud was the big mission statement for boosting troops in Minnesota.    Or so he said.    Yeah, he's full of shit like that.

MAGA, in addition to being evil, is hypocritical. How many times have we heard Tom and David moan about some supposed crime in blue states that has been committed multiple times by their orange master, and they barked and clapped their flippers together?

And how would you feel if you or a family member was the one falsely accused and imprisoned? It could happen to anyone.

Under your theory we shouldn't put any criminals in jail because we may imprison an innocent person

He didn't say that or anything close. Don't be an asshole--for a change.

No. Under my theory every accused person receives a fair trial and an attorney. A jury trial conducted by the judicial branch.

Does this eliminate any possibility of the innocent being convicted? No. What it does do is reduce the chances of that happening as much as we can.

Tom may truly be so ignorant as to not understand why there are so many protections for people accused of crimes. He would have been in high heaven in Nazi Germany, where no guilty person was ever found innocent. The only downside of that noble policy was that no innocent person was ever found innocent, either.

I doubt that Tom shares your sentiment that an innocent person being declared guilty is a far greater wrong than a guilty person being declared innocent.

And in Nazi Germany, the trains ran on time!

Ridiculous conclusion, even for you.

That sort of attitude of "it won't happen to me" often reminds me of Pastor Martin Niemöller's "First They Came" speach when he expressed regret of his former  silence/toleration of Nazi policies.

First they came for the Communists

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me

And there was no one left

To speak out for me

A powerful poem and one of my all-time favorites. Ich habe erst in der Universitat es gelernt, in der originelles Deutsch.

Niemoller was in fact part of a group that was eventually targeted: the clergy. The Pope's shameful complicity with the Nazis was intended to safeguard the Church's assets and its priests and pastors. That worked until...it didn't.
