Poor old DonDiego sure does miss the Good Old Days.
Both the NRA and theiir store-bought politicians routinely make the argument that heavily armed public spaces will prevent mass shootings...and yet Don DIego's example of the US Capital shootem' up in "the good ol' days" demonstrates otherwise.
If our government was serious about making progress on this issue they would simply study the cause and effect of this seemingly unique problem in the US and take heed of whatever advice a non-partisan group of experts concluded. But we cant do that because the NRA and their store-bought politicians have made that common sense exercise a violation of Federal Law. They dont want to know the answer. That should really tell you a lot.

Tom, I think Don Diego provided you the example. There hasn’t been a gun attack on Congress since firearms were banned from the capital. If Republican politicians truly believed the shit they are shoveling, they would resend the ban on fire arms in capital because they would want to make their workplace safe as possible. Do you want another example? When was there last a successful gun attack inside a Federal Courthouse? All of those are gun free zones. Shouldn’t republicans be demanding that people be free to carry their firearms inside the courthouses to make them safe?
Why do Republican lawmakers insist on gun free zones when it comes to the places that they work and make public appearances in?
The armed police & metal detectors are the reason why there haven't been any attacks. Even the members of Congress have to go thru the detectors.

In other words, we can ban firearms and still be safe, and in fact the safest places in the country are gun free.
Mark didn't notice the first part of the sentence - armed guards. One cannot get past the front door with a gun without being stopped by armed guards
