Idiot Republican Solutions To Mass School Shootings

Uh, no. Mark and PJ are having more than a little trouble. Any place that has armed security personnel on site IS NOT a "gun free" zone. There are guns in the zone, and it's on purpose. There are guns in the zone of all of the examples Mark listed. All of them.

So, the Parkland School wasn’t a gun free zone because they had armed guards? So, Chicago isn’t really a gun free zone either as it is patrolled by armed police officers? So why do conservatives complain about gun free zones as they don’t exist using that definition?

People who are considering mass murder will certainly heed restrictive gun laws, just as they do murder laws.

Let me ask the class this question.......if making a law will put an end to these types of shootings, why not just outlaw school shootings?  Neither law will end this stuff.  A totally incompetent government completely messed this up.....but hey, never let a perfectly good crisis go to waste.

The school had armed guards Mark?  Really?  Because I didn't see them until well after this disgrace had ended.  Take guns away so these fools can guard you?  Doesn't look like that worked too well in Parkland.  After this affair, I don't see that as being too reasonable of a solution for anyone.

For the record, I don't own a firearm and likely never will......but then there's that pesky 2nd amendment, isn't there?  Did you notice the Oscar's?  And all the red carpet folks surrounded by folks carrying guns.....you think that they are giving up their guns any time soon?

If you want to save a lot of folks, particularly urban folks......outlaw the sale, manufacture, importation and distribution of hand guns AND ammunition.  In about 200 years you might get a large percentage of those weapons out of the people's hands.  Anything other than that is nibbling at the edges.  Not much purpose for hand guns other than to kill people.

Ah, yes, the all or nothing argument.  It’s a gem.    Gun laws won’t stop all incidents of gun violence so they are a waste of time!

Restraining orders  don’t stop all incidents of domestic violence.

Security cameras don’t stop all incidents of shoplifting.

Pepper spray doesn’t stop all incidents of rape.

the drinking age law doesn’t stop all incidents of underage drinking

building a wall along the Mexico border won’t stop all incidents of illegal immigration.

but you don’t hear NRA puppets use their same logic to ridicule those measures.    They really don’t believe their own BS.     Just be honest with yourselves.   You believe school shootings are the price we pay as a society for an unrestricted, jump-the-shark interpretation of the 2nd amendment.

Here’s how this issue gets fixed eventually.    Either a leading Republican or a popular host on FOx will come out in favor of gun control.  And then the republican base will fall in line.   It can happen.

it happened this week with tariffs and protectionism.

The coward from Broward? The sheriff's deputy who was outside of the school when the shooting started? Who heard the shots being fired and hid outside? Who lost his job because he knew people were being killed and did not try to stop it? BSO policy calls for deputies to engage an active shooter and eliminate the threat. He continued to hide until the shooting stopped.

I've never seen anyone refer to Chicago as a gun free zone. They do have some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation. Those laws do NOTHING to stop gun violence in Chicago. They do leave law abiding citizens unable to defend themselves, their families and their property from criminals.

The only people legally carry guns in Chicago are licensed security guards, cops, and criminals.  A licensed concelled carry owner can not walk any Chicago block without being in violation of the law.  Technically one can carry, and that's what Liberals remind us of, because they are disingenuous liars.  The reality is, one can't carry within the proximity of:

       1)      Elementary or secondary school, whether public or private

2)      Pre-school or childcare facility

3)      State buildings

4)      Court buildings or buildings being used for a court proceeding

5)      Local government building

6)      Jail, prison, juvenile detention / correctional facility

7)      Hospital, affiliate, mental health facility or nursing home, whether public or private

8)      Train, bus or other public transportation funded in part / whole with public funds

9)      Bars and any restaurant that serves alcohol which accounts for more than 50% of their sales

10)   Permitted public gathering / event (pass-through exception)

11)   Special Event Retailer’s Licensee location

12)   Public playgrounds (No pass-through allowed)

13)   Public parks (pass-through allowed if trail or bike path merely passes through, but is not totally within the public park)

14)   Cook County Forest Preserves

15)   College / University, whether public or private – ANY location

16)   Off-track betting parlor, riverboat or gambling venue licensed by the State

17)   Stadium, arena, or any collegiate or professional sporting event

18)   Public library

19)   Airport

20)   Amusement park

21)   Zoo or museum

22)   Nuclear Regulatory Commission facility – you may NOT have a firearm anywhere on their property, even in your car.

23)   Any place prohibited by federal law.

Oh, and it's illegal for anyone to transport a loaded gun in a car.

Bingo.  Municipal gun laws are a complete waste of time.    Anyone wanting to circumvent chicago gun laws can take an Uber 2 miles down the road to Gary, In and purchase guns there.

I don’t have to speculate how national gun control laws impact gun violence....I can simply look to the huge host of industrialized nations around the world that have implemented them.    They see the same movies and play the same video games.... but they don’t kill people with assault weapons (in large part because they don’t have access to them).
