Idiot Republican Solutions To Mass School Shootings

Thats right, DonDiego, not all gun reform measures are "gun grabbin liberals takin m-gun away".    But our recent history has been to interpret any gun reform as such.  

Perhaps DonDiego can recall the angry backlash from 2nd Ammendment zealots in the wake of the Manchin-Toomey bill of 2013   which almost exclusively only did two things:

- allow the Federal government to investigate the causes of gun violence in America

- close background check loopholes at gun shows and private sales.

So when DonDiego opines background checks pr'bly dont infringe upon 2nd Ammendment rights he would be opining in contrast from a majority of members in Congress in 2013.  

The definition of irony as Al sharpton's brother has been arrested in a shooting, the day after marching against gun violence.

“Al Sharpton's half-brother was arrested and charged with capital murder after a 23-year-old woman was shot dead in Alabama in a dispute over a car, authorities said Monday.

The Dothan Police Department said in a news release that Kenneth Glasgow, 52, was arrested along with Jaime Townes, 26, after 23-year-old Breunia Jennings of Dothan was found dead in a wrecked car around 10:50 p.m. on Sunday.

Jennings' death came just a day after Glasgow's homeless and community ministry, Ordinary People Society, participated in the nationwide March For Our Lives, which advocated gun control and protested gun violence.”

If P J Stroh is trying to make DonDiego feel bad, he is failing.  Not agreeing with a majority in Congress is jes' somethin' poor old DonDiego does.

Today Congresswoman and former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has introduced The Ammunition Background Check Act which would require instant background checks to purchase ammunition.

The Ammunition Background Check Act was introduced with 36 co-sponsors, all Democrats.

Thanks for posting this PJ.  Don would be well served to read it as Justice Stevens goes through the history of 2nd Amendment jurisprudence, and how the conservative justices manufactured an individual's right to bear arms independent of militia membership out of whole cloth in the Heller decision.

You might try reading the article you linked. It says 138 people were killed on school grounds since 2012, not 400. Not all of the 138 were school children either. They are including anyone that was killed on school property, which could include a suicide or gang related murder late at night. Since 1999 there has been about 10 murders per year during school hours. That is not a false statistic.

I've never been a gun owner and I'm all for sensible gun control. I don't know that the NRA is way out of the mainstream as you suggest. Most Americans feel it's a right to own a gun for protection and don't feel they should have to jump through hoops to purchase one. The left's ultimate goal is to ban all guns. I think your "bad news for Republicans" is wishful thinking. Trump poll numbers are up a lot in the last few weeks and white millenial males have been gravitating towards GOP. Hopefully by the time 2020 rolls around a good chunk of your voters will be back in Central America with no easy way to get back in the country.

Stevens' op-ed piece only shows that some in the anti-gun crowd are not afraid to show their true agenda. Abolishing the 2nd amendment and taking away Americans' right to own guns.

In addition to Al Sharpton's brother being arrested for murder, the day after marching in a anti-gun rally, the gun control capital (Chicago) had 19 shooting this weekend.

It appears what PJ & Mark really want is to ban private ownership of guns; of which the criminals (who commit most of the shootings) will be sure to honor.

And lastly what weapon kills more than rifles & shotguns combined - knives.  So anytime someonw buys kitchen knives, they should submit to a FBI background check 

Not at all....but this goes to the point I made above.   ANY REFORM  of any kind  (including background checks) is interpreted by  NRA zealots as "gun grabbin liberals takin m-gun away".
