If You Are Better Off Now Than You Were 4 Years Ago

Everyone is different...for example, David no longer gets Covid welfare checks and his Truth Social stock is tanking......so his life sucks four years later.    What a pisser.

That makes sense why he's so upset.

My wife and I made too much to get any of the Covid relief.  We were fine with that as it should go to people that didn't fare as well as we did.

It must really gall you that someone can go thru life paying their own way and not having any debt except for monthly living expensives. But then again I was taught to fend for myself and not depend on the liberal way of life of leeching off of the government and expecting others to pay my way. What I really resent is that many of my tax dollars are used for the liberal leeches who always have their hands out and are given the money that I paid in for taxes.

So the 65.6 million seniors on Medicare are liberal leechies since they only pay 25% of the cost of the program with the taxpayers paying the remaining 75%.

You have taken the action of being obtuse to a new level - typical liberal response ignoring the actual meaning of my post. Take a bow ...

I know you were taking a dig at DM with your post.....But....

The people on Medicare paid for it while they were working.  As a teacher, I have a Medicare deduction every month, that is also matched by my school district.  As a state employee I also put into the state retirement system for teachers, but not social security, since I will get my retirement from the state for the rest of my life.  I also will have the school district medical insurance until I turn 65, (will retire at 62), at which point Medicare will kick in.  So really, people have been paying into Medicare during their working lives.....so not really being a leech.

You probably knew this and were just yanking on DM's chain.

Stop being a "leech" and tell Medicare you want to unenroll.

Of course he was - that is what liberals do when confronted with undeniable facts that they can not truthfully defend.

When one retires and takes Social Security, one is automatically enrolled in Medicare. I have been "enrolled" for 6+ years and have, as of yet, not needed or used Medicare. If and when I do, I will have earned the right to benefit from Medicare thru all of the years I paid into Social Security.  Save your "leech" comments for those who actually are leeches.

A common misconception about Medicare is that it pays for all one's medical expenses.  It does not.  If one wants to have everything covered one needs to buy a Medicare advantage.  Coverage on htese programs vary and can be cheap to almost $200 per month.  Dental is not always covered & neither is nursing home care.  If one wants that coverage, one must buy that also.

So to be fully covered, one needs Medicare, purchase Medicare Advantage &  purchase nursing home care, which can cost almost $1k per month

I won't purchase Medicare Advantage.  Some of these plans limit the doctors you can see to those withing the network (PPO) and require you to be referred to a specialist.  Others don't.  I have a really good medicare gap plan that costs me about $140/month and covers what medicare Part A & B doesn't after the annual deductable is paid.  My last two surgeries cost me zero out of pocket.  Also, those on medicare need to have a part D plan which covers prescription drugs.  These can be expensive but mine covers all my prescriptions for free with no monthly premium.  I purchase a dental discount plan and a vision plan that cover my needs for a reasonable amount.  I'm not worried about nursing home care.
