If you are someone who tries to avoid aspartame, be forewarned that the manufacturer has been allowed to change the name.

All those artificial sweeteners are bad for you. I feel much healthier since I cut them out of my diet.

I agree., but this latest bullshit is nothing but deception concerning a product that has been proven unhealthy.

There is and has been no "deception." There is NO artificial sweetener on the market called "Aspertame." If an artificial sweetener contains aspertame, that ingredient is, by law, listed on the packet/container. So there's no "name change."

No producer, marketer, or purveyor of a food product is obligated to call it by its chemical name. AminoSweet was first used as a brand name in 2010. FDA approval was not required for that or any of the myriad other brand names (Stevia, NutraSweet, etc. etc.) used for artificial sweeteners.

Aspertame has been shown to be unhealthy, but what David is referring to is a conspiracy theory/meme that's at least two decades old, purporting that the substance will turn you into a space alien, make you grow antlers, will make your dog explode, etc. It's nothing to get excited about. People eat stuff that's bad for them all the time. Anyone who doesn't know about the negative health effects of aspertame has been living under a rock.

Wrong, shit for brains - no one said that there was an artificial sweetener on the market called aspertame. What was said is that the name aspertame has been changed to Amino Sweet.

Nope. The chemical substance is still called "aspartame." Its name has not been changed.

Are you really so fucking stupid as to not understand that? (Hint, biys and girls: Yes, he is!)

You are and maintain being stupid. The post reads "name change" and that is what these devious bastards have done.

The brand name was adopted in 2010. No name change occurred.

Admit when you're wrong. End of thread.
