If you can't remember something that happened in 2023, are you fit to be President

We are seeing Trump continue to lose his cognitive ability and memory, mixing up events that happened just last year. I don't see how he is mentally fit to be President.

The Hill 10/11/2024

"A Michigan newspaper issued a correction after former President Trump cited the paper at a speech in Detroit, claiming he was Michigan’s “Man of the Year” in 2023.

The former president pulled out a printout of the article from The Oakland Press during his address to the Detroit Economic Club on Thursday."

He supposedly had a copy of the article in his hand, but the article was from 2013 not 2023.

"“Trump was the keynote speaker at the 2013 dinner in Novi, which drew a record crowd. He was not honored as Man of the Year. During the 2023 dinner, Trump was honored as the Man of the Decade which was reported in the 2023 story,” part of the note reads.

“We’re setting the record straight after the former president incorrectly cited the 2013 Man of the Year award during a recent speech to the Detroit Economic Club,” it adds.""

Big Deal - how is that TDS coming?   Next thing you know, you will be reporting that CNN, MSNBC, and ALL of the media have reported that there was an air quality warning issued by the EPA because of a rumor that President Trump "broke wind". I am sure that you will be right on it.....

I would think anyone would be concerned about having a cognitively unfit person as President for the next 4 years, everyone knows that Trump's mental ability is continuing to deteriorate at an alarming pace.

I have to agree with David Miller on this one.  Holy brain cells, Max. Can you feature the number of meetings, speeches, awards, sometime several in one day, that high profile people go through  in ten years?

Though mini-miniscule in comparison, I've given classes, talks, won a few 'awards', sent to meetings to receive awards, and gosh darn if I can remember when or where for most of them.  Not particularly an endorsement of Trump, yet, but this is not something that I would judge mental capacity on.

Candy

Its not an issue of his memory.   He has a long history of making up awards and recognition for himself.

He enlarged this photo and hung it up at several of his golf clubs for his guests to admire.    Its a completely fake novelty item.  There's a booth at your local county fair that will do the same thing for you.     He's been lying since the day he came down on the escalator in 2016.   And that is a very much known  quality his base embraces.

Time asks Trump to take down the fake photo he displays at his golf clubs

Stolen Valor

Tim Walz created challenge coins to give out which had a rank in the military he didn't have.  This disqualifies him from office, it's stolen valor and is an actual criminal offense.

Candy...first of all, agreeing with David Miller is almost always incorrect--as it is here. He's frothing at the mouth because he thinks he's the only one who should be able to make posts about Trump. Do you know that his post in this thread, screaming "TDS TDS TDS, BWAWWWWK!" is at least the tenth such post of his just in the last week?

Max wasn't pointing out this one incident, but rather, how it reinforced a pattern. Trump's starting to lose it, and if you want to give him a pass because he's getting old, consider how, for months, the conservative media followed Biden around 24/7 and gleefully posted videos every time he stuttered. They said his verbal gaffes proved he was unfit for office. They're strangely silent about Trump's verbal gaffes now.

Also, Candy, Trump has a long-standing habit of lying and bragging about awards he never won. So if his memory is still sharp, that's actually worse, because it means that he was pitching bullshit in Detroit. So either way, it's not a good look for him--or for the idiots, like Miller, who slavishly worship him.

   HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!

Who's running the country?  Why hasn't the Democraic party demanded a cognitive test and used the 25th Amendment yet?

I think it could still happen, just to have Harris as President in name for that last ditch effort to get over the line.
