The most recent farts from the White House indicate that the coming Medicare and Medicaid cuts will be about 20% across the board. The method, though, will not be as previously described. Rather than slashing everyone's benefits by 20%, the Turd will slash benefits by state and then transfer the burden of administration to the states.
This means that any given state can simply pass on the reductions by cutting everyone's benefits, or the state can absorb some of all of the shortfall.
Oregon recently announced that it will make up all of the shortfall, so no Medicare or Medicaid recipient will lose their current care. Oregon will raise corporate income taxes to fund the shortfall.
So if you have a loved one living in a red state and on Medicare or Medicaid, you might warn them of what's coming and help them move to a place that's civilized. You only have to be here 30 days before you can get on our universal health plan. And our plan will always be funded.
