23 incidents of 'voter fraud' in 5 years. Wow, gee, golly.
I voted absentee several times. What's the big deal?
Now that we have early voting in my neck of the woods nobody has to take off work or stand in a line for hours. Not even for very many minutes. If ya should happen to wait until election night to vote, no problem, no lines to speak of. Has Iowa never heard of early voting? And as a bonus, would meet those lovely social distancing standards more easily.
And to delet someone from the rolls who hasn't voted in a year? Gimme a break.
As I found out in my career, put too many 'conditions' in one request [of bill in this case] and you doom the whole thing. But sounds like this needs dooming anyway.

Real simple. Make it as easy as possible for people to vote. And that makes more sense than ever during a pandemic, which will certainly still be present come November.
Trump's idiot bleats about supposed voter fraud beg the question: why would anyone do it? Commit a felony for what...the chance to add one vote to thousands--or millions--of others? With no tangible reward or other incentive?
This is where Boiler or Stalker will tell us about the Deep State writing checks to illegal aliens so they can somehow fraudulently vote. But remember when Trump created that voter fraud investigation commission or whatever it was called? And it found SIXTEEN cases of fraudulent voting in the 2016 Presidential election--a wee bit short of the five million Trump wanted?
We in Oregon have had mail-in voting for some time. It's not even a point of contention here. In Trumper states, it's being choked off. The only argument being made is that when voting has to be done in person, turnout is lower, and that will favor Republicans. Really. That's the way they're saying it now--baldly, without remorse. They don't want Democrats to be able to vote.
I see no reason why voting can't be done on the internet, actually. Banks and other financial institutions already have dozens of protocols for identity protection and fraud prevention. Hell, I want to sign into my brokerage account, I need THREE passwords. No reason why that can't be done with voting. But corporate America is run by Republicans, and Republicans don't like voting (unless the "base" votes, of course).
