In Trump's Twisted Version Of America...

What folks here already should know.......trying to discuss politics with Mark is a senseless activity.  Like the old story about wrestling with pigs.....you have to get down in the mud, and the pig likes it.  There is no hope as his boat is stuck in a permanent left turn.  It is amusing to me to check in every few days to see what new low the left can sink to on any given day.

Fritz, I am honest enough to debate people in an open forum, unlike some people I know. I think some people are so insecure about their own worldview that in a public space they follow the old adage ...better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

Sorry Mark, you don't debate.  You pontificate.  And when people disagree with you, you insult them.  But I certainly enjoy your agony with the current administration and very much look forward to more of your anguish with President Trump's Supreme Court pick.

I don't insult people.  Agony?  If this is agony, it is the sweetest agony I have ever felt. I am happier than I have been in years.  I love watching the Trumpies destroy the country and its democratic institutions.  It is like having a front-row seat to witness the Visigoths sacking Rome.  We are witnessing the end of the American experiment and America's descent into a fascist state led by a mentally deranged strongman.  Watching formerly principled conservatives abandon any and all morals they once possessed in an attempt outdo each other in nonstop flattery of our Trumpenfuhrer is literally the giggle at the funeral.

Mark claims he doesn't insult people.  However this quote is from the same topic.  Looks pretty insulting to me

"The problem is that Trump's base is comprised of idiot rednecks, white nationalists, neo-confederates, and neo-nazis. "

LOL, I'm sure he meant that in a nice way.  After all, with the left the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Reread Mark's last post......was that Mark, or Karl Marx posting?  Hard to tell for me.

Liberals love to use the fascist term, but do they really know what it means?

authoritarian rule - we still have functioning legislatures & courts

opposition suppression- not happening

govt takeover of industry & commerce - liberals complain that President Trump is reducing govt control

You could stop by just saying - "Liberals complain" ...

Tom, this is what Fritz said, "Sorry Mark, you don't debate.  You pontificate.  And when people disagree with you, you insult them."

My understanding of English led me to believe he was speaking about people here that I regularly chat with not with generic Trump supporters.

Nevertheless, I will address your point.  The official Republican party candidate for a U.S. congressional seat in Illinois is a self-professed Nazi forget the Neo part. The official Republican party candidate in Virginia for a U.S. Senate seat is a neo-confederate. He even got congratulatory tweet from Trump after he won his primary.

Who could forget these guys and their chant of, "Jews will not replace us."  What would you call these guys Tom?

When Steve Bannon ran Breitbart he referred to it as a "White Nationalist" site. During the 2016 election, Breitbart was the place to be if you were a Trump supporter. After the election, White Nationalist, Bannon, joined Trump's White House as a cabinet member.  He was joined by White House advisor Stephen Miller another White Nationalist that had been mentored by notorious White Nationalist Richard Spencer.  And who could forget White House advisor Sebastian Gorka who liked to accessorize himself with a Nazi medallion?

The truth is Trump's base is made up of White Nationalists, Neo-Nazis, Neo-Confederates and members of various other white power groups. It isn't me calling them this. They have self-identified themselves as members of these groups. Now, I am not saying all Trump supporters are members of these groups, but the largest and most vocal part of them are. The thing that makes me giggle is when all of these rank and file conservatives including members of Congress debase themselves by flattering Trump and supporting white nationalist policies on a regular basis all the while trying to pretend they have no knowldge of the actual statements these guys made about how they identify themselves and their agenda.

Liberals love to use the fascist term, but do they really know what it means?

I certainly do, but it appears you do not.

authoritarian rule - we still have functioning legislatures & courts

So did Nazi Germany and Mussolini's Italy.  Those legislatures and courts were packed with party members that were loyal to the regime. Tom, does that sound familiar?

opposition suppression- not happening

It started on day one. The Justice Department at Trump's behest made it a priority to prosecute peaceful Trump inauguration protesters and the journalists covering the event. They charged them with felonies. These peaceful protesters were facing years in prison. The Justice Department lost every case they took to trial as they had no evidence that these people were rioters.  That was literally hundreds of cases they lost Tom trying to persecute innocent people that they had no evidence committed any crimes. After more than two years of trying to get convictions, they finally dismissed the last of the cases after concluding they were unwinnable.

Almost every day Trump attacks the free press from the pulpit of the Presidency while frequently praising house organ Fox News.

During Trump's rallies, he has advocated that protesters should leave on a stretcher and even offered to pay the legal bills of any supporter that caused the protesters to leave on a stretcher.

He called for the Russian government to hack Hillary's emails and on that very evening, they started hacking Hillary's emails.

He regularly praised WikiLeaks and now we come to find out that WikiLeaks was a co-conspirator in hacking the DNC's emails.

His analytics firm, Cambridge Analytica, stole tens of millions of American citizens' data from Facebook. I even got the Facebook alert a few months back saying that Cambridge Analytica had stolen my data.

Members of Trump's campaign and his family met with Russian agents at Trump Tower where they discussed getting"dirt" on Hillary. Trump, later drafted a false statement claiming the meeting was about adoption.

Trump and Trump's attorney engaged in illegal actions to suppress the speech of women whom Trump had affairs with.

Trump illegally raided the office of his former Dr. and stole medical records the doctor was required to keep by law.

Tom, these are just the ones I recall off the top of my head. I could go on with research.

govt takeover of industry & commerce - liberals complain that President Trump is reducing govt control

Nazi Germany had a planned economy where industry and commerce worked hand in hand with the government.  It wasn't a takeover.  When Hitler took power in 1933 he immediately enacted tariffs and privatized state-owned industry. Tom, does that sound familiar?
