Indiana town learns elections have consequences

I would rather gargle moose urine than listen to a Tom Petty song, but I must say, this one seems germane to the topic.

Of course, I do wrack my brain trying to come up with any other song about Indiana or set there. Maybe something along the lines of "Dear God, get me out of here!"?

I have heard that Indianapolis offers lots of the usual big-city amenities without the usual attendant high prices. And it probably isn't as MAGA as the rest of the state. Weather sucks, though.

A good friend of mine was in Indianapolis when when Vance was in town and was downtown when he was booed coming out of the State House.  His thoughts mirror yours that Indy seems to be more liberal than other cities in Indiana after he spoke to some of the people there.

After Vance had his little $4 million kayak trip? Yeah, that didn't go over well. Pretty tone-deaf of him to have done that. I guess Trump's "emperor" vibe is rubbing off on him.

Really, ordering a lake drained so that he could have a nicer boat trip--doesn't that sounds like something a medieval king or emperor would do?

Like wind and solar, this carbon capture project is a loser.  Can one Liberal explain why electricity prices are up 80% over the past decade while natural gas prices have been flat?  It's wind and solar.  Let's not make the same mistake with stupid carbon capture projects.

If it is such a terrific project then a private investor should be interested.

We know that you MAGAs are automatically and rabidly against anything that helps the environment. And now we have a "President" who considers it his job to destroy any laws, agencies, companies, or projects that are helping the environment. Because he's starting to sicken and die, he wants everyone else to sicken and die as well. That's why he's turned the EPA into a shell of its former self.

No investor is going to touch such a project when the insane asshole Turd is fanatically against it.

Wind and solar don't generate carbon, STOOPID.

Or other countries that see the potential of the technology and are willing to invest. Could be Germany, could be China, could be no one. Maybe 10 years from now, the US is importing concrete from a foreign company, and people will demand a tariff.

Quick question, did you click the link(my links work that way) and scan the article?

The concrete plant was stupid from the start.  It wasn't a concrete plant but instead a subsidized woke plant.

Electricity prices are not up 80%. Electricity cannot be exported to other countries worldwide. Natural gas can be exported and is a commodity that is influenced by worldwide demand and production.

Boiler LOVES to ask questions based on false premises. He does that repeatedly, even though it makes him look like a fucking idiot.

Why are electricity prices up 80% over the past decade? Because they're not! 2015: 12.5 cents per kwh. 2025: 16.5 cents per kwh. That's actually about a 30% increase, not 80%.

And guess what! Cumulative inflation over the last ten years is...drum roll please...30%! So the real cost of electricity has been constant, making Boiler a lying fool yet again.
