Inflation pretexts

We've all seen the price of virtually everything go WAAAAY up. And we've also heard the endless bleating that it's all Biden's fault. I've dealt with that stupidity elsewhere, so I won't go into it here.

One thing I'm SURE you've heard--because I've heard it dozens of times--is that whoever's selling the whatever is being FORCED to charge these higher prices. They really don't want to, but they just gotta.

However, corporate America--every single motherfucking sector--is reaping record profits. We've all seen the prices of goods rocket upwards by 25%, 50%--FAR more than inflation would dictate. So that makes the excuse "our costs have gone up" ring hollow. If they were charging more because their supply costs more, then corporate profits would remain steady.

And of course, as with everything else, RepubliQ-controlled corporate America is engaged in an intense propaganda campaign, the object of which is to blame inflation on anyone or anything but them. Like they have no choice in the matter.

That's bullshit, I don't buy it, and neither should you.

Prepare yourself Kevin but I'm actually going to agree with just about all of that.  I think there is a TON of ridiculous price gouging going on as well.  And sadly, it isn't going to decrease either when inflation gets in line.  (maybe airlines, car rentals, etc is possible but not most)  It is getting way to easy for just about every business to generally say their costs have risen.  Now granted, they have, but nowhere near what they are doing to their prices.  (Can someone explain to me why car rentals are like 4x more expensive then what I used to pay in Vegas as just a small example?)

The only thing I don't agree with is that corporate America is controlled by republicans.  Despite my constant ripping on liberals, they are plenty of them in high positions running companies.

Inflation is not all Biden's fault.  A major portion is, however.

Yet, neither you nor anyone else can say how or why. You can make feeble attempts, such as blaming it on Biden's infrastructure bill that hasn't even passed, but the reality is that nothing Biden has done has led directly to inflation, as in, a cause-effect relationship. Any contention to the contrary is just conservitard bullshit propaganda.

Kevin, the reason I often do not post supporting links is because you and others do not read them.  I did, however, post a link on this topic (different thread) showing the specifics on the money that Biden and friends are printing.  It was a government link showing, if I recall correctly, that we are printing $100 billion per month, and this increases or inflation.  If you cared, you would spend 60 seconds to find the data yourself.

It's always amazing to me that such topics surprise you.  It's so obvious that your news sources don't address such important topics, and the facts put Biden in a poor light.  Even many Democrat politicians have pointed out that Biden's monetary policy would push up inflation.  Biden's policy is a reason that our inflation rate is about 65% higher than Canada's inflation rate.

I actually read them if they aren't something posted by some random loon on Facebook.

At a minimum, Biden and his administration have done nothing to help with inflation.  Throwing gas on a fire won't put it out.

What do you think they should do?

I don't need to "find data" to support an erroneous contention. I already explained that the government prints currency, NOT money, and the major difference between the two, and why. (And that's been going on since 1789, including during the Orange Pusbag administration. the government MUST print currency, or the economy would collapse. DUHHHHH, Boiler.)

Your most ridiculous "idea," though, is that Biden actually has the power to affect the prices of goods charged by private companies---all over the world!!!!!!!!!!!! What a stupid fucking contention!

Actually, they've done quite a few things--within the administration's limited power to control events in a GLOBAL economy. I'd list them, but you'd just sneer and make some stupid remark about Biden and say oh that doesn't really count blah blah blah.

Your thinking is crippled by your complete servitude to your own preconceived notions.
