Trump of his own accord created the problem. He is doing lifelong damage to those kids according to health experts. He literally took them, hostage, all because he wants his precious wall. The same wall that he promised Mexico was going to pay for. Now he wants the taxpayers to pay for the wall to the tune of 25 billion dollars. The wall that even conservatives like Rand Paul say is a useless waste of money. Apparently, he threw a temper tantrum today in a meeting with Republican Senators befitting a toddler because they were only willing to throw 1.6 billion dollars away to soothe his fragile ego.
The idea that Democrats are uninterested in addressing the problem is rich. The two Republican House immigration bills included no input from Decomcrats as they weren't invited to the negotiating table. It is kind of hard to address a problem if you aren't included in the discussions to solve it. Trump could solve this problem with a stroke of a pen. Republicans in Congress can't even come up with an agreement among themselves as to which is the best way to address this issue. The entire issue of child interment is all on the Republicans at this point and I think history will judge them harshly. This episode will become a permanent stain on America's History just like the Japanese internment camps are. In some ways, this episode is worse.

Bob, reporters were only allowed in on guided tours that were arranged well in advance. They weren't allowed to take pictures. These pictures were provided by U.S. Customs and Immigration. That is why every news organization has the same handful of images. There were images of the murals of all four of the presidents I mentioned in my newsfeed yesterday, so your claim that what you showed was all that was available to the media is absolutely false. Even the WaPo showed the Øbama mural in that facility in their reporting of the tour. You also neglected to address my statement that the same facility was being used for the same purpose when Øbama was president. Where was the outrage back then? It was almost non-existent. I say "almost" because there were some protests about it back then, but that was ignored or given almost no coverage by the MSM because Øbama was the president.

Democrats want open borders. Democrats don't want voter ID laws because that would make it more difficult for people in this country illegally to vote. Democrats also want convicted felons to vote. Democrats are seeing a shrinking of their base and see a need to boost that base with felons and illegal aliens. Democrats don't want laws on the books enforced. It's really just that simple.
The statement "Trump could solve this problem with the stroke of a pen." is very telling. On this issue, you want him to act like a dictator - ignore existing law and try to overturn it on his own. Left wing judges have tried to strike down a number of his "stroke of a pen" executive orders, some leading to supreme court challenges.

Umm, . . . DonDiego opines pjstroh and he are in agreement with the facts pertaining to family separation, . . . but suggesting that the Trump Administration is not "just following the law" is misleading.

Once the family of illegal immigrants is arrested because they are "ILLEGAL immigrants" the body of Law including the Flores Settlement which poor old DonDiego referenced earlier requires the children be separated from the parents.
