Bob, that is simply not true. People charged with misdemeanors don't have their children taken away. Illegal entry is a misdemeanor for first-time offenders. The maximum sentence that can be imposed is 6 months. I can tell you from first-hand experience, almost anybody that is charged with a low-level misdemeanor in this country doesn't even get jail time for the offense if found guilty. Nine times out ten they will get probation sometimes even non-reporting probation. Often the charge is simply deferred until they complete their probation meaning it doesn't even go on their permanent record. In a lot of jurisdictions, someone charged with a low-level misdemeanor won't even be arrested. They will simply be given a summons to appear in court on a certain date. If they are arrested, they can usually bail out in under three hours.
Even with a lot of felony charges, kids aren't separated from their parent and often the parent can bail out the same day. Even someone convicted of serious felony charges often has months if not a couple of years to make arrangements for the care of their children before they are sent to prison.
Overall, your comparison or meme is weak. Shouldn't detainees charged with misdemeanors be given the same treatment as anyone else charged with a misdemeanor?
Detain children with their illegal alien parents? You're literally Hitler.
Taking families and putting them in wire cages before the parents have been convicted of any crime is still an internment camp, isn't it? The upside is that Trump will only be able to inter them for twenty days now.
