Stumbled across this article, quoting some Canadians saying they will never travel to the US again.
We are at war with the US.: Canadian travelers reaffirm it’s elbows up as trip cancellations continue | The Travel
Heh. I couldn't help but notice that the multiple articles on The Traveler website referred to Canadian tourism to Maine, Minnesota, Vegas, Florida--but not the Pacific Northwest. Yet, we're getting hit harder than all those other destinations. Washington's and Oregon s economies are deeply intertwined with Canada's Trump's stupid and evil policies and babble have hurt all of us. But we up here in the upper left-hand corner tend to fly under the radar.
The drop in Canadian visitation particularly hurts us because we don't have any other markets to attract tourists from to compensate. We're quite a distance from the US population centers--even SF and LA are a two-day drive away.
The silver lining is that Canadian visitors I've talked to know that we in WA and OR didn't vote for the evil orange fuckface and are therefore not responsible for his hostility.
Fuck Trump! Fuck him!
