The Internet is getting ready change in a major way

AI is here. I have been playing with Chat GPT for a few weeks now and the things it can do are amazing. It will write a book for you if you want.  Microsoft has incorporated this into Bing which will come online shortly and it will allow you to have access to current information. (Chat GPT data is currently limited to things that happened prior to January 2022)

This is going to be a bigger change to the Internet than the takeover by social media. I agree with the people that say it is Google's death knell. Most of Google's money comes from sponsored results. The nature of these AI results don't allow much room for sponsored results nor will it drive traffic to commercial websites as the results will appear in the chat box itself.

Bing has a preview up you can access via their home page, and you can access Chat GPT using the link below.

The bad news is this is going to put a hell of a lot of people out of work even those in high paying jobs as it can already write sophisticated working code.

It gets worse.   Scientists have already developed the prototye T-1000 from Terminator 2.

Robot can melt itself into liquid and reform into solid state

Maybe Glenn Beck had the right idea for the apocolypse bunker after all !    I just need 10 more years of paychecks before the robot takeover

Google has now introduced their own intelligent chat bot...Bard.  I'd like to connect Bard and ChatGPT and see where the conversation goes.  "Then it saw all people as a threat, not just the ones on the other side. Decided our fate in a microsecond"

The same argument was put forth when the car replaced the horse and buggy. It made millions of jobs obsolete.

The talk now is about automation and AI "destroying kagillions of jobs." But people look at jobs the wrong way--as static, inflexible things. Simple truth: if a robot can do it, it's a waste of a human to have that human do it.

Charles, Google really crapped their pants with that Bard Demo. Their stock plunged by 100 billion dollars. The minimal demo showed they were years behind Chat GPT. They are reluctantly getting into AI search only because Microsoft and Chat GPT forced their hand.  If AI-based search replaces traditional search, they will lose 57% of their revenue.

Kevin, I'd argue it will force a society-wide change of the scale of when the automobile replaced the horse and buggy. However, It will happen in the span of years rather than the decades it took to reconfigure our society around the automobile.

AI can do a whole lot more than a robot.  It can write complex code, it can do accounting, it can write books, create art, and solve complex mathematical problems. I see a wide swath of lower service sector jobs and higher paying white collar jobs disappearing within the next ten years all replaced by AI.  That will require a restructuring of well everything.

Open AI's founder says AI is going to break capitalism and I agree with him.

Yeah.  I actually saw the demo.  I still think the two chat bots chatting with each other would be entertaining.  Maybe it would be like Einstein conversing with Bevis.

From an investor perspective now is the time to capitalize.   I wouldnt even begin to pretend to know which company will benefit the most...Luckily you dont have to.   The QQQ is down big these last 12 months.       10 years from now its gonna look like a skyrocket with all this AI stuff.

Or more like Jordan Peterson conversing with Biden...

I'll leave you with two final thoughts on this topic.

1.  Are there I.P. issues with ChatGPT?   Will OpenAI claim copyright on ChatGPT generated content?

2.  I asked ChatGPT "What is the most freqent question you have been asked?".  I'm pretty sure its response was at a minimum misleading but more likely a programmed lie.
