Looks like Dems have a pretty good shot at the house, but very little chance in the senate. We’ll see how it shakes out tomorrow. Not really counting on a strong blue wave here in Texas - every statewide office will almost surely stay red. There are lots of drmilleds still hanging on to their anger and hatred, and they do get out and vote. Beto has an outside chance to upset Cruz, but I’m not holding my breath. My only electoral satisfaction is usually the knowledge that I have at least canceled out every statewide and national vote that the doc has ever cast and will ever cast in the future....

Now that the election is over and Trump effectively scared his base with white xenophobixc rhetoric - how much do you think he'll focus on the scary caravan of refugees coming up through Mexico?      

 President Trump did not "scare" me with his so called "rhetoric" - he just stated the undenyable facts that any rational person knows to be the truth.

The Mayor of Tijuana and the Secretary of Baja California are upset about something.

"Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum has leveled harsh criticism at Mexican federal authorities for allowing the continued flow [of Central American caravan members] to his city:

'Why Tijuana?  Why not Matamoros?  Ciudad Juarez? 

It's a tsunami.  This situation is purposly orchestrated, with the intention to harm Tijuana.'

By Friday, Tijuana police had detained seven caravan members - six Hondurans and a Guatemalan - according to . . . Tijuana's public safety secretary, who said they willbe turned over to Mexican immigration authorities for deportation.

Two were inebriated and fighting each other in Playas de Tijuana; three were arrested at the city's newly opened shelter in the Zona Norte for smoking marijuana, and two were arrested for consuming illegal drugs across town in Camino Verde, one of the city's most crime-riden neighborhoods."

The Mayor also suggested checkpoints at the city's entrances."

"[The Mayor] had already come under much criticism from migrant advocates for his comments made in an interview Thursday on Milenio TV, a Mexican national television network, where he complained about the arrival of the caravan members: ' Some of them are a bunch of bums, smoking majijuana in the street, and attacking our families in Playa de Tijuana.  Who is leading them?' "

This cannot be the band of merry emigrants making their way from central America to find a better life in the United States of America, can it ? ? ?  Why these guys are just a bunch of bums and ne'er-do-wells. 

DonDiego sure hopes this is a different caravan than the one headed for the southern US border.    The one headed for the US border comprises happy families and diligent, enterprising future citizens. 

Or, in the unlikely event it is the same caravan DonDiego hopes someone on the border can stop them. 

Great Scott!   You mean in a crowd of 3000 migrants 6 were arrested for the terrorist action of being drunk and fist fighting?     I haven't seen such rampant bad behavior in that ratio since....since.... the last Trump rally I saw on TV.    

Does anyone know if there was some single digit subset of the immigrant  caravan that used foul language too?   Because we might want to consider moving to defcon 3

DonDiego's desperate rationalization of demagoguing  the caravan is getting more ridiculous by the minute.   

Actually at the moment there are only a few hundred in Tijuana.  So 6 arrests in one day out of a few hundred is pretty high.

They have already tried to scale the fence.  Apparently PJ thinks this is ok.

How many of these asylum seekers is PJ going to sponsor at his home?
