INVASION ! ! !

Oh, oh, . . . there's pictures !

The Daily Mail

Oh ! Oh !

The BBC has pictures too:

Mexico to deport group which stormed US border

US Uses Tear Gas

Perhaps the World Socialist Website was commenting on a different border incursion by peaceful immigrants.

KPBS reporter's twitter account is very active nowadays.

Thanks for posting the pictures of the invaders storming the border:

Lets see are these  MS-13 gang members coming to invade America ?

Or are they families looking for a better life in America?

I mean, we know how DonDiego feels but I just dont feel as threatened by that woman and her rugrats as he does.   I cant imagine the pathology of someone who would shoot tear gas at her and her kids.   She looks alot like the woman who cleaned by Vegas Hotel Room at Boulder Station.

But herein is the vitriol of the alt-right.    I've never been prouder to be on the right side of history by oppossing this shit.

A migrant family, part of a caravan of thousands traveling from Central America en route to the United States, run away from tear gas in front of the border wall between the U.S and Mexico in Tijuana on Sunday

Not many families in this shot.  DHS estimates that more than 50% are single males; under 30

Does PJ agree that a continuous influx of unskilled workers coming to America lowers wages for Americans?  In my opinion, it is not the American worker's responsibility to sacrifice income so Mexicans and other immigrants can have jobs in the US.  I'm not competing with these people, so it's no skin off of my ass, but the American laboror loses lots of money each day because of policy that PJ supports.

Re:  PJStroh's post of 07:33 27 November

DonDiego includes references and links so that the interested reader, if any, can look at the sources of information so as to inform himself of the facts of the matter.

He is not at all surprised that PJStroh selectively presents the evidence from DonDiego's links to support hiis political agenda.

[The interested reader, if any, can look at the same link and see a representative sample of behaviors at the attempted border crossing.]

The Border Patrol Agents were under attack by young males rushing the border, attempting to cross over some older border fencing, and throwing rocks at the agents.  The agents fired pepper gas to deter these lawbreakers.  It did so effectively.

The on-site observers have reported some of the illegals rushing the border intentionally placed women and children ahead of them specifically to influence those like PJStroh who support their efforts to cross the border illegally.

DonDiego recommends in the future non-citizens avoid such behavior to prevent exposure to such deterents, . . . including especially women and children likely to be employed for i. protection by lawbreakers and ii. propaganda by those supporting the lawbreakers.

[For the record:  DonDiego's relatives entered the United States by boat onto Ellis Island from their homes somewhere in Germany and Poland and Ardara, County Donegal, Ireland.  They adhered to US Immigration Laws and became citizens.  DonDiego thanks them for their courage, . . . and their genes.]

No I dont agree.    I've already posted links to multiple references of employers whose businesses are suffering from a lack of workers.     The American laborer you speak of is not taking those jobs.    The people coming into the border are.   And thats how Ameirca has always worked.

Re:  DonDiego's post of 09:36 27 November

I posted DonDiego's own picture from the link he provided.      I have no problem with letting the border patrol and immigration officials weed through the refugees and picking out the bad apples.   I suspect there are some.    I dont vouch for everybody.

DonDiego does.  he has made it very clear he objeccts to everyone in the caravan and has long before any of them reached the border...including the ones legally going through the ports of entry.

A true story....

My great grandfather came over from Italy in the boat to Ellis Island.  He  like many people did not have the proper paperwork for identification and application  because he was  poor.  There were lots of people who shared DonDiego's dispositon to immigrants back then and objected to people like my Great grandfather without that paperwork.   They gave him and his ilk a cute little name which became a popular racial slur towards Italians..."WOP".   Its an acronym that stands for "With out papers"

He made a modest living running a hotel in the new land.   his son would go on to help defeat the Nazi's in the battle of the bulge during WWII.   His grandson would go on to fight the growth of communism in Korea and become a celebrated high school  history teacher.    And his great grandson would play a humble role as a software engineer in America's envied tech economy.

And all along the way there were lots of DonDiegos  who painted with broad brush and  anecdotally pointed to Italians who ran the mob....murdered people....and you can imagine.

Those people were wrong then.   And They are wrong now.

The vitriol and stereotypes towards people coming to America from Honduras to make a better life is a really bad chapter in American foreign policy.   I only hope it is short lived.

Oh my.  So if we don't have Mexicans, I'll never be able to get a new roof?  Is that really your stance?

PJ is correct that companies are unwilling to pay wages needed to garner qualified employees.  That leaves them with two choices.  Raise wages, or close the shop.  Someone will still be roofing tomorrrow, however.
