The IRS vs. Trump

Obviously, tax revenues, as an absolute number, increased over Reagan's eight years in office. So did inflation; so did the cost of living. Furthermore, the population increased. So adjusting for those factors, yes, tax revenues indeed fell under Reagan. They also fell under Trump. Both the Reagan and the Trump administrations featured tax "reforms" that were giveaways for the rich and resulted in huge deficits.

You can easily confirm this if you want to. But you don't want to. Use your ideology as the sole way to evaluate things.

There's nothing to dig into the weeds about.....the impact of the Trump tax cuts were either nothing or negligble to the overwhelming majoirty of people in the middle class or below.   Thats by their own testimony.     And Thats why Republicans had to go into the weeds with their team of accountants and spell out how people actually saved $50 on their tax bill.     Whoop-d-doo !

The big savings was for the groups Republicans always cut taxes on....and then dont reconcile in the budget.   So we now have a recod number of corporations paying ZERO federal income tax in addtion to the billionair class paying fewer cents on the dollar in taxes than I do.

And in Donald Trump's case there were multiple years where I didnt only pay a higher percentage of Federal Income tax than he did....I actually paid more tax in sum dollars than he did.

But you reap what you sew.     If AMerica puts a scummy tax cheat in charge of tax policy you get screwed.

Of course. But our resident Trump-lickers continue to wish to cheer the bigly "achievements" of Dear Leader.

Isn't that amazing? Trump screwed them just as hard--rode them hard and put them up wet, as they say in Tayucksass--as everyone else, and they continue to say "thank you, thank you, Dear Leader."

I'm reminded of the iconic scene in "1984" when the Party reduces the chocolate ration, and there's a massive demonstration thanking Big Brother for increasing it. One of the reasons totalitarian regimes and leaders survive is that there are always delusional people who are willing to swallow anything the government feeds them, including "Trump reduced your taxes." What a scam, from our nation's #1 scammer.
