That's exactly what I've been thinking, if MAGA thinks any person of color who's on the fence about voting for Trump will be convinced because he's telling her what heritage she is allowed to connect with is a good strategy, they aren't very bright. Probably not a good strategy to appeal to anyone who's on the fence.
That's why Trump's appearance wasn't to entice Black voters--he had no real chance of doing that, no matter what--but to throw red meat to his base. He did a spectacularly poor job of that, of course--he instead turned off X number of moderates.
I've always wondered how MAGA got ANY Black people to vote for them--as was the case in 2020, and 2016 to a lesser extent. I mean--"We hate you, you're inferior, and we're going to stop you from voting" isn't exactly the most compelling message, is it?
