It Is Glaringly Obvious That the DemocRats Have Lost Their Minds

Brain dead Biden pushed out and the "Border Czar" Cackling Hyena Harris appointed as their choice to be President. God Help America, the DemocRats insanity is unbelievable...

Trump is toast Trump is toast Trump is TOOOOOAST la la la la la...

Cool another lying conservative that reapeats the filfthy lie that she was a border czar.

Hey, Mark, it's just the same old same old same old conservitard playbook, which Davey Dog loves and has adopted:

Bad thing: the person you want to attack had TOTAL CONTROL over it.

Good thing: the person you want to attack had nothing to do with it.

So: Biden controls the price of all consumer goods worldwide--as long as inflation is high. When inflation comes down--Biden had nothing to do with it. TRILLIONS O' MESSKINS FLOODIN' ACROSS DA BORDER--it's all Harris's fault. Border crossings are down--she had nothing to do with it.

Obviously, Harris never had executive or legislative authority over border policies. For her to have had such power would have been unconstitutional. But that basic logic, of course, isn't stopping the Republiholes from cooking up childishly absurd attack ads.

As an a-political (I really do care, I want what is best for ME and mine like everyone else), I'm putting out my two-cents guess---only a guess, not even an opinion:

Reading through these Kitchen Sink posts is somewhat useful, somewhat informative on what folks on different sides of the aisle believe and why.  Aside from any acerbitity (a new word?) that comes through, and the occasional reasoned thoughts/justifications for believing one way or the other on this or that issue, plus what I read/view from other sources, here it is---TA DA.

Those who secretely liked and wanted to vote for Trump anyway (like my old friend who fifty years ago said she put on a raincoat with hood pulled down over her face when she went to a chiropractor 'cause it was frowned on back then) will be joined en mass by those who liked certain aspects of how, in their view, Trump ran things in his first term but had been turned off by his loose-cannon mouth, and more lately by the 'out-there' prosecutions, sins of the flesh, family mis-deeds, etc.  Another way to say it, many will hold their noses and vote for Trump who probably would not have a year ago.

Adding to that, it is too late for Harris or any other Democrat shoo-in nominee to gain enough traction to overcome the fact that we don't have a strong favorite, other than those with pure party loyalty, for whom to vote.

Lots of words to say Trump JUST MIGHT gain mightily by Biden having given up and folks can justify voting for Trump.

Note:  THIS IS ONLY A GUESS based on the theme of this thread so far.  Excuse my bolding of certain words and phrases which I did only so that Kevin and David will actually read and maybe consider what I wrote.

Candy

Candy, I'd disagree about it being too late and in fact Harris is quickly picking up momentum, donations and she is even driving new voter registrations. The worst thing in politics is peaking too soon.

Candy, I respectfully say, I think you're wrong here. There are very few folks who weren't going to vote for Trump but are now suddenly going to vote for him now that Biden is off the ticket. I mean, think about it. How does the changing of Trump's opponent from Biden to Harris make him more attractive to anybody? MAGAs will be MAGAs. Whatever hold he has/had on them (which I continue to find nigh unfathomable, but never mind) endures and really, would persist if he was running against Abraham Lincoln, or God.

Keep in mind that the voting process is private (for very good reasons). Those who "secretly liked" Trump secretly voted for him--in 2016 and in 2020. Obviously, those people were in addition to the ones who had already bought Trump blow-up dolls, painted "MAGA" on their pickup trucks, etc. So even if someone felt a secret shame about being a Trumper (and there were many such folks), they could cast a vote for their orange hero without any disapproving friends or relatives being the wiser.

The only way that Biden's withdrawal and Harris's ascension could produce additional votes for the Turd, er, Trump would be if there were people who would have voted for Biden but now cannot stomach the thought of voting for Harris...right? And who would that be? People who can't stand the idea of a black President? People who can't stand the idea of a female President? Aren't those folks already snugly in the Republican, if not the MAGA, camp?

And finally...you might be underestimating the strength of Harris as a candidate. She's got pretty much exactly the right profile to go after Trump. You also can't discount the energizing effect she has had and will have on female and black voters. I mean, the money is pouring in...the vast majority of it from small, grass-roots donors.

It's being said now that this will be a close race, but that's only if Trump manages not to say or do something awful and/or stupid that would repel voters. And what are the chances of that? Of him behaving like a decent, sane human being over the next 104 days?

I expect this election to be a runaway for Harris. And I don't say that because it's what I want. I say that because I honestly think she will wipe the floor with him.

Well said Kevin. I am optimistic too. She has already successfully mobilized a lot of new folks that wouldn't have voted for Biden. I can't wait to see her continue to kick orange ass.

Oh, and Candy, it is indeed a word, though it's spelled "acerbity." And interestingly, the informal meaning of "acerbic" has evolved over the years. It used to mean "sharp, concise, direct," but now it tends to mean "combative, confrontational." I speculate that that change is because the word sounds like "acidic."

Always come to me for more information about the English language than you really want to know.

I always get a kick out of the spelling of words and how things are defined

when I read books from authors in other English speaking counties.

A couple of examples. We use the term parking lot but in most other English speaking  countries it is car park.

The same for a car's tunk it is called a boot in other English speaking counties.

If you told someone in America that you locked your keys in your boot and missed your appointment they would look at you like you are crazy.
