It Is Glaringly Obvious That the DemocRats Have Lost Their Minds

Mark and Kevin, I really do appreciate your well stated counterpoints.

And, Kevin, truly, thank you for the grammar lesson.  I enjoy being grammatically correct when writing almost anything.  Glad to know of the evolution of the word.

The usual suspects and the media can pretend that she wasn't in charge but the facts speak other wise.

After 100 days on the job, Roberta Jacobson, President Joe Biden’s first border czar, left the role on April 9, 2021, after already “grappling with large increases of migrants attempting to cross into the U.S.,” The Los Angeles Times reported, saying, “Biden’s border czar … is stepping down.

Biden announced in a March 24, 2021, news conference that Harris would be responsible for addressing the southwest border surge that already began within days of him taking office. “I can think of nobody who's better qualified to do this than the former” California attorney general, Biden said.

Harris was chosen to lead the effort because “the best thing to do is to put someone [in the role] when he or she speaks they don't have to wonder about where the president is,” Biden said. “When she speaks, she speaks for me. She doesn’t have to check with me. She knows what she's doing. I hope we can move this along increasing challenges at our southwest border. No one knows this better than the vice president.”

“On April 14, 2021, Axios' Shawna Chen confirmed Kamala Harris had been appointed Biden's ‘Border Czar’ writing: Harris, appointed by Biden as border czar,

On March 31, 2021, Governor Abbott sent his first letter to Harris, saying, "Now that President Biden has named you Border Czar in charge of the administration’s response, I want to express to you the threats and challenges caused by this administration’s open border policies. Given your new role as the administration’s Border Czar, I urge you to visit the border to see the crisis for yourself, and … to take swift action to secure the border, crack down on human trafficking, and prevent more children from being trafficked and abused."

As calls grew for Harris to visit the border and respond to the crisis, by an April 20, 2022, press briefing White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked, “Does the president still have confidence” in Harris as border czar. She replied, “He absolutely does.”

In a news conference alongside Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei, she warned against illegal migration to the US, saying: "Do not come. Do not come. The United States will continue to enforce our laws and secure our borders." She added: "If you come to our border, you will be turned back."

We know that didn't happen.  When it comes to democrats the actions speak louder than words.

At no time in the last 3+ years did anybody in the White House correct the term "border czar"  She was in charge.

Lying Tom cuts and pasts something from the conservative media and is so ashamed of his sorce he won't name it.

Harris wasn't in charge of Border Security she met with other countries in Central America to see how we could work together to reduce immigration. It was a diplomatic mission.

Unlike you my source doesn't embarrass me.

Anytime you hear a Republican say Border Czar know they are dirty, filfthy liars and it was said with intent to decive you.

The only people excited about Harris are people who were going to vote for Biden anyway.  Now they just have someone they are not ashamed of.  And of coarse the mainstream media.

As usual the suspects and media try to rewrite history; but once on the internet it liveres forever.

Axios is now Republican?  Politifact is considered left in its reporting, even though it purports to be a fact checker.  A true fact checker would be neutral.

From the BBC in March 2021.

Vice President Kamala Harris will be the White House’s point person on immigration issues at the nation’s southern border, President Joe Biden announced Wednesday, tasking her with stemming the rising tide of migrants, many of them unaccompanied children, arriving in the U.S.

“I can think of nobody who is better qualified to do this,” the president told reporters at the White House

"When she speaks, she speaks for me."

From NBC in Boston

President Joe Biden has tapped Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the White House effort to tackle the migration challenge at the U.S. southern border

In delegating the matter to Harris, Biden is seeking to replicate a dynamic that played out when he served as President Barack Obama's vice president

The Republihole media--and Tom--can do their stupid smear campaign until they turn blue in the face, but the simple facts are that Harris's assignment was diplomatic, she had no executive authority, and her efforts were concentrated in Central America, NOT the border.

We can name Tom Stupid Czar if he wants.

You're welcome! There are times when I think that using exacting grammar, vocabulary, and syntax is an old fogey skill, and no one cares to know how a word is spelled any more.because if they get it wrong, their phone will correct it (of course, the phone fucks that up about half the time). Still, I consider it an art as well as a skill. Good writing makes a better impression than crap writing.

And I must acknowledge that trends change what "proper" usage is. It wasn't so long ago that sins such as ending a sentence with a preposition or beginning it with a conjunction would get you banished to the Grammar Pit of Hell--until someone pointed out that those "rules" dated back to an 18th century grammar manual written by someone who thought that Latin is a perfect language and thus, English should follow Latin's grammar rules. Nowadays, most dictionaries and grammar manuals are "descriptive" rather than "prescriptive," which means that they say "This is how it is written and spoken" rather than "This is how it should be written and spoken." Thus, the language evolves and changes. The use of "they" or "them" as indefinite-gendered pronouns used to be a grievous sin. Now, it's commonplace, to the extent where it's "acceptable," even to the sticklers. Then we have phenomena such as the meaning of "literally" changing to mean "emphasis," to the point where the seemingly nonsensical "It's literally raining cats and dogs" is a coherent sentence. And then there are the portmanteaus, such as "frenemy," which make it into the informal lexicon long before they make it into the dictionary--especially when a new word expresses a concept for which there previously hadn't been a word.

And I chuckle that I reflexively made that last sentence convoluted, just to obey the dusty old and no longer valid rule of "Don't end a sentence with a preposition." I could have just as easily put "for" at the end of that sentence. Winston Churhill absolutely destroyed that rule when he called it nonsense "up with which I shall not put."
