It is new phone day today!

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. I haven't had a new phone in two and a half years and my old one was getting to the point that the touchscreen would quit working and the phone had to be restarted often to get it moving again.  I checked this morning and the new phone I ordered yesterday is already out for delivery.

DonDiego finds a flip-phone, approximately the size of captain Kirk's "communicator", serves his needs.

It has never "quit working" or failed him in any way.

He fondly recalls the days of rotary phones attached to the wall.  And outdoor phonebooths placed conveniently for Superman to change his clothing.

I loved my Motorola Razr at one time.  It very much reminded me of Kirk's communicator. Alas, I needed Internet on the go, so I started buying smartphones. The screen eventually goes out on all of them.

I was a late adopter of cell-phones.  I had one of the old flip phones which mostly sat on my kitchen counter unused on any given day.  I largely only used it when going on vacation or scheduled events where I would meet up with someone.

But the smartphone era has changed everything:  GPS......YELP restaurant finder and reviews....cinema times and locations....stock portfolio overview....apps to control home security/thermostat/locks.

I cant imagine any life before  =)

NFC payments are also making smartphones a must have.

The phone arrived and it has so many features and settings it is taking me a while to get used to it.

I was really relieved I got signal at the house as I switched carriers to Sprint. I tried a Sprint phone 4-5 years ago and couldn't get signal.

Maybe it will talk some sense to you...

Ha ha ha - I thought you were busy at your toilet?

Even I can stand only so much bullshit...

I get 70 Mps on my phone where I use it most.  I am very happy.  If anybody is looking for a good deal, Sprint is offering big discounts on the Galaxy 9 series phones as a Thanksgiving deal. My bill is only $76.xx a month and that includes, a 50GB Hotspot, free Hulu subscription and free music streaming subscription on a Galaxy Note 9.
