There is no way that a single 90-minute debate could have provided enough information for anyone to draw a definitive conclusion about Biden's fitness. Since I'm objective, my reaction was that I was concerned, but I wanted to see more. I didn't run around in circles flapping my arms and screaming "NO! NO! NO!"

And that issue hasn't yet been decided. We don't know whether Biden is fit for office or not--whether the debate was typical or atypical. Even you, unobjective Jerry, have to admit that what we've seen of Biden after the debate was equivocal.

As I said earlier, this decision wasn't about his fitness; it was about his chances of winning. And all I care about now is that Harris has a MUCH better chance.

You want predictions? I predict that by Election Day, Harris will be polling 6-8 points ahead of Trump.

I don't think he needs our prayers any more. He probably feels good about his decision. He also will have a much better next few months--he has work to do, and can now do it without distractions.

I kind of hate sports analogies, but he reminds me of an aging pitcher who gave up six home runs in his last appearance and decides to not pitch the seventh game of the World Series.
