It is a sad day for Boiler...

Indiana's Republican governor issued a statewide mandatory mask order effective Monday.

It is about time. Imagine national leadership so bold as to issue a mandatory mask order.  If they would have done it months ago, we would be getting back close to normal like the rest of the world right now. Instead, we got an anti-masker President that discouraged people from wearing masks.

You can look at almost any other nation and see the value of actually following the rules. We have this "FREEDUMB!" mentality in much of the country, coupled with an idiot wannabe fascist dictator who for some unfathomable reason, people listen to.

Pelosi just called it the "Trump virus." That's the most accurate name for it so far.

Boiler was an irresponsible, selfish public smoker long before this ever happened. He won't be responsible enough to wear a mask.

It won't effect me.  I where a mask every place but my pub.  We still don't need to where a mask when eating and drinking.

Boiler,

Latest rules from the NY tyrant.

You cannot stand in the street to drink for fear of spreading the virus, but you can protest & riot because apparently there is an immunity bubble over protestors & rioters.

You cannot sit at a outdoor restautant to drink but you must order food to eat outside, apparently food gives you immunity.

Now for the best part, chips & cookies don't count, but eating cake does.  The reason for the chips ban - somebody had the nerve to sell "cuomo" chips, so the tyrant had a hissy fit.

The classic Ellen's Stardust Diner on Broadway is closing after over 30 years in business, putting 200+ employess out of work.

I can only explain Tom's abiding, irrational hatred for New York City in two possible ways:

1) He actually doesn't give a shit one way or the other, but is just trying to be a loyal Trump stooge;

2) He had some crippling emotional experience there long ago, maybe something like getting turned down for a date, and now he blames the entire city for his trauma.

My golf course restaurant has a "Cuomo Lunch".  Since they can't serve a drink, even on the outdoor patio, unless the patron also orders food.  Most of the "lunches" are between  $ .50

and $1.50.  Celery sticks and dip, sliced pickles, pre-packaged PB&J.  Everyone just orders and laughs about it.  How does some small food item make it okay to drink a beer?  Just doesn't make any sense to me.

The idea behind that rule is that patrons would not spend hours just hunched over a barstool and slurping down drink after drink---which creates ideal conditions for contagion.

Rules can be flouted, deliberately misinterpreted, or simply ignored. The restaurant owner probably thinks he's being oh-so-clever, but the intent of the rule was to prevent people from congregating, which is Pandemic Prevention 101.

We're doing so horribly in this pandemic largely because millions of people think the rules don't apply to them.

What is the difference between eating for 2 hours & 2 hours of drinking?

"Eating" is the consumption of food. "Drinking" is the consumption of beverages.

Glad I could help!

I see no harm in either eating or drinking, no matter how long, as long as social distancing is practised, especially outside.
