“Dear Jonas,Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America.
“Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a ‘right of ownership’ anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also.
“I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unles we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT”
There was a time. In the very recent past. Where I would have read a post like this, and rightly assumed it was a copy and paste Onion article.
Does he think The government of Norway controls the Nobel Peace prize?
Is some shiny trophy so important that he would jeopardize the safety of the American people? Jeopardize the safety and security of the entire free world?
If NATO collapses or dissolves there is a strong chance Russia can take most of Europe. Russia will then aid China in it's conquest desires of Asia.
With Russia owning most of Europe and China owning most of Asia war between them and the US will be inevitable. Putin has already said he wants to take Alaska. Could we survive going to war with Russia and China without help from anyone?
It is true that NATO is quite depended on the United States. However it's worth noting that at this point the United States is also dependent on the survival of and assistance from the other members.
We had in some ways been "footing the bill" for NATO and that was definitely a conversation worth having. But it's worth noting that the reason we allowed it to be set up that way in the first place and agreed to largely finance NATO is that it was a wise and prudent investment in our national security. It was also a major boon for US weapons manufacturers.
Perhaps we could survive a war against Russia and China without NATO. But do any of us really want to find out? That is a question I would much rather be left to speculation and don't ever want to find out the answer to.
