The defeat of the Ohio ballot initiative is good news, but there's a dark side to it that overwhelms any positive aspects. The initiative proposed to drastically curtail citizens' rights to draft ballot initiatives and make it far more difficult for any such initiatives to pass. Thus, the initiative was blatantly, obviously anti-democracy.

Yet, 42% of voters voted for it. Despite the fact that it would have severely restricted their rights. It would have made it virtually impossible to pass the Blacks Can't Vote initiative or the Ohio Book Burning Program. In other words, it would have squelched the goobers' voices along with those of the liberals.

It frightens the crap out of me that almost half of the voters in idiot Ohio voted to destroy their own rights. So many times in history, democracy has been destroyed democratically. Is this such a time?
