Let's keep it simple - just get an official ID - millions have done so, it is not difficult.

The only "bullshit" here is what you just posted.
Your faux outrage re this issue is the very definition of bullshit. You're just parroting the MAGA crusade to keep US citizens from voting.

That's one of the stupidest things you've ever said, which is really something.
"It is not difficult" FOR MOST PEOPLE. But what if it IS diffcult for someone?
IDs require supporting documents, such as birth certificates, proof of residency, etc. etc. They also cost money. I can easily conceive of some people having difficulty getting them.
But let's say that very few people are truly unable to get IDs, but they ARE US citizens. Don't they have the right to vote, as they are citizens? Where in the Constitution does it say that ID is needed for citizens to vote?
Once again, the point at which ID should be required is REGISTRATION, not casting a ballot.
Real simple: ID to register. Signature to cast a ballot. Compare signatures on ballots to registration documents.
Signature validate millions of documents every day. Why should ballots be any different?

Generally speaking no. For most people getting proof of citizenship isn't very difficult.
However I still feel the hypothetical proposal I mentioned would be simple enough. Most importantly it keep things easy for the people and puts the burden on the government.
Seems to me it would help ensure registration records are accurate and up to date and also make it as easy as reasonabley possible for citizens to vote.

"For most people." But what if it IS too difficult for even one single solitary person? Should that person be stripped of his right to vote?
MAGA moaning never acknowledges that registering to vote and casting a ballot are two separate and independent processes. They should be bitching and whining about REGISTERING, not casting, because despite their stupid juvenile prattling, a ballot cast by someone who isn't registered WILL. BE. THROWN. OUT.
Therefore, we don't have to interrogate everyone who VOTES. Someone who votes should be registered. If they aren't, they're casting an invalid ballot. Easy fucking peasy! Just match the signature on the ballot to the registration records, like it's been done for over 100 years! What on earth is the problem?
Now, requiring a birth certificate, letter from the Pope, fingerprints, blood samples, sworn affidavits, photos, Certificate of Favorite Color, to REGISTER...sure! Fine! Make that process as prolonged and arduous as possible! Screen out those FEELTHY ILLEGULS! ARRRRRRRR!
But the actual process of voting--that shouldn't require anything more than matching the signature on the ballot to the signature on file in the voter rolls. That's why mail-in and absentee ballots work.
Therefore, if Joe Can't-Get-ID shows up at the polls, but he's registered, hand him a ballot and smile. If he isn't registered, poll workers can verify that and tell him that if he casts a ballot, it will be invalidated.
I really don't see how anyone could cast a fraudulent ballot under the present system. After all, they'd have to
a) be able to forge the signature of a registered voter
b) who hasn't voted in the same election
c) and isn't going to vote in the same election.
How would anyone pull that off?
And our MAGA morons scurry away when I ask them WHY anyone would cast a fraudulent ballot.

Quit making lame excuses. Voting is a privilege, a privilege that REQUIRES registering in order to vote.

Wow. Just wow. What a stupid thing to say. Voting is a RIGHT.
I said that I'm fine with requirements to register. I oppose requirements for registered voters to cast ballots other than that those ballots bear their signature.
The sad fact that both you and the rest of MAGA frequently mix up registration and actually voting explains how wackadoodle you all sound.

Voting is a priviliege AND a right ONLY for American citizens. Non citizens have no right to vote in American elections.

Which is why they're not allowed to, and despite all the MAGA memes, very few of them try.
I'll ask you again, and you won't answer, coward. Why would anyone cast a fraudulent ballot? It will be rejected, and will be evidence of felony fraud. So why would anyone take the risk?
Answer, coward!
BTW voting is a RIGHT, and not a privilege granted by anyone
Can't answer, can you, coward?
