Nope! I don't have to obey him or even listen to anything he says!

But why are YOU his bitch?

God, you're ignorant. Canada is a member of the Commonwealth. Therefore, that pledge is the same as the Presidential oath to defend the Constitution. It's a vital part of the ceremony and the institution.

Do you call EVERYBODY a "pedo," or just 90% of the people you encounter?

Idiot!

lol at same as our presidential oath.  Bending a knee for a bloodline is far different than an oath to our constitution.

and just the pedos, like the King.

Barbara, I spent most of June in B.C., not far from my home in Portland. What incredibly beautiful cities, Victoria and Vancouver! And the people are so very nice--it's not just a cliche. Canadians are, in the very core meaning of the word, good people.

I'm ashamed for our country. We elected a nasty bully whose mind is crumbling. He's now trying to tear apart our relationships with the rest of the world and cozying up to dictators. And he has his slavish admirers--like David Miller. You've seen how he acts around here. He's a good little Trump copycat in that regard: insulting, nasty, crude, stupid, and lying. I'm sure he'll make some stupid shit remark about me--as if that exonerated him!!

So I just ask you and your fellow Canadians to hold out for a while until Trump is gone, which won't be all that long. We still are and want to be your friends, allies, and trading partners. That will resume when the Orange Turd is put into history's dumpster.

Kevin, I love visiting the Pacific Northwest.  Portland is a great city.  My in-laws have a time-share in Cannon Beach where my grandchildren spend their holidays.  We have always had such a great relationship with our American neighbours.  They are very hospitable and kind.

I have been a widow for 13 years and regard Las Vegas as my second home. I hope Trump doesn't change that.

Barbara - and others - there is a phrase that applies to people like Lewis -- Beware of the "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" --.. As an expression alone, a wolf in sheep's clothing denotes a person who appears harmless and kind, but this attitude only hides their devious and malicious ways

I love Cannon Beach and Seaside! Kind of touristy, but incredibly beautiful. Astoria and Tillamook are great as well.

I also hope that Trump doesn't change the status of Canadians in some fundamental way. For instance, if Elon's companies continue to tank, Trump could start charging Canadians $20 each to enter the US. Or he could extend his proposed 43-country travel ban to Canada! Your new PM is apparently refusing to kiss Trump's ass, and we all know how that makes him fly into a tantrum.

My solace is that Trump won't be around long, and every illegal as well as asshole thing he's doing will eventually be turned around by the courts, so whatever shit is going down in Trump's crumbling brain won't affect us for more than a short time. And while we'll get hurt badly in the short term...the coming Trumpcession will cut back Vegas visitation, and maybe there will be bargains to be had.

Have you visited the Washington casinos up and down 1-5? The one just north of Portland, Ilani, is a really large and very nice property. I also like Snoqualmie, east of Seattle.

Yes, the same as the Presidential oath. Precisely. Assuming the office carries with it a number of pledges, to perform certain duties and functions. Canada's membership in the Commonwealth is a real thing and they take it seriously.

You mischaracterize it as "bending a knee." It's actually confirming an alliance.

Astoria is a lovely place.  I stopped there on a coastal cruise a few years ago.  Tillamook cheese is delicious.

Unfortunately I haven't been to the Washington casinos on the 1-5 for a while.  It's easier for me to fly from Victoria or Vancouver to Las Vegas as it's only a 2 hour, 10 minute flight and lately the fares have been ultra-low. I booked a return flight for $250 for the end of April.
