Killing schoolgirls in Iran

I doubt killing 30,000 of their own people generated much support for this murderous regime

Two things can be true.   They have no love for their leaders....and they have no love for the people who killed their daughter.

A parent who loses their child has nothing left to lose.    Those are the kind of people who strap on bombs and walk into pizza parlors.

Here's what the Toms think. A brutal, murderous regime is hated by the people, and rightly so. It is then forcibly replaced by another brutal, murderous regime--this tine, that of one of the country's bitter enemies. The Toms think that the people would greet that change with open arms.

Not only is that classically Tom-stupid, it doesn't even take into account that many citizens despise the regime but would despise being controlled by a foreign power even more. Thus, Trump's war is increasing support for the existing regime.

How to mitigate that? Tell the Iranian people that their lives would be better under Israeli/American occupation and control. But Trump hasn't even bothered to say that. I mean, being looted and raped is no fun, and they probably know that that's what will happen, but maybe Trump could deploy one of his few undeniable skills: lying.
