Knotted Panties All Around

Boy, the Republicans really got their panties all twisted up last night. They thought they were clever stalling the Impeachment hearings so the vote would come late at night where nobody would see it. Then the chair ended the hearing announcing the vote would be tomorrow at 10 AM. Cries of dictator and Stalinesque were heard.

Yeah, real dictatorial to hold a big vote like this in the light of day instead of the middle of the night. Soon Donnie will be wearing the scarlet I one of only three Presidents to do so, and the first to have to run for reelection with Impeachment on his record.

I am sure this will take Donnie's mental decline to a new level. I wouldn't be surprised if we see him walking around on the White House lawn in circles mumbling to himself with a fresh load of crap in his pants. 

The Republican theatrics are calculated. They've figured that the best way to protect themselves, from Trump in the short run and the "base" in the long run, is to make sure everyone sees them as fiercely loyal Trump lackeys. They're quite willing to debase themselves and run around like chickens, flapping their arms, if need be.

Many have been saying that votes for or against impeachment could determine whether a Republican Congressman or Senator gets reelected. I'm afraid that's true--in the wrong way. Anyone who grows a pair and does the lawful and moral thing by voting for impeachment will be dogpiled by Trump, Fox News, the base, Sean Hannity, etc. etc. etc. etc.

The Republican party isn't a political party any more. It's a cult, and God help you if you don't show absolute fealty to the Orange Orangutan. Just look at the slavish, irrational loyalty our Trumpers exhibit every day. Trump has a finger up all of their asses.
