Latest Popular Baby Name

Poor old DonDiego didn't see this coming.

For the first time ever the name "Corona" has appeared on the list of the top 100 baby names for girls, . . . at # 100.

Ref: The Bump

DonDiego certainly hopes that the country is never hit with a hemorrhoid epidemic.

I considered naming my two boys Moon Unit and Dweezil, but sadly decided against it.  Live and learn.

In isolation, it's not a bad name--after all, it just means "crown," or "halo."

However, in light of current events, it's kind of like naming your kid "Tsunami" or "Auschwitz." People give their kids names without any consideration of the fact that those kids are stuck with those names for the rest of their lives.

Wow, I'm #81!  Gigi.  Not my real name, tho.  I'm told that when I was maybe 2-3 years of age I was drawn to a cage of cackling chickens in the neighborhood.  The sibs said I pointed at them and said "gigis", BUT, pronounced with hard Gs, not 'Zhezhe' like the Leslie Caron character in the movie Gigi.  Somehow it stuck within the family, hard Gs and all.  I cringe when one of them addresses me that way in public.  Gets strange stares.

I think Vladimir has a nice ring to it eh??

You would...

Trump is going to rename Eric "Vladimir." He's also going to force Eric to spend every day not wearing a shirt, and he'll have to eat borscht three times a week.
