laughlin

i am going 11-10 thru 11-15 on a golf trip with a sort of whale.

staying at a harrah's whale place. i know. he gets everything.

always wanted to get to laughlin.  i've read it's not the best but free is free.

where and what to gamble?  i play vp and craps.  joe my host has a horseshoe up his

butt and plays everything.

laughlin

We are going toLaughlinthe 8-12 this month. Golfing a couple days. We are at Harrah’s on a free fly and stay. We will wonder to the other casinos but will gamble at Harrah’s for the most part.

One thing you may not know is that it's quite a walk from Harrah's to the other casinos. So you might be stuck there--there's no shuttle or bus that I'm aware of (but you should ask). Harrah's gambling isn't as good as the rest of Laughlin--higher limits, tighter VP and slots. Their blackjack games are probably lousier than elsewhere in Laughlin--I know that the $5 games, for certain, are 6:5. Craps is probably the same as elsewhere, though with higher limits.

The best games and variety IMHO are at the Aquarius. The Riverside is a good low-roller joint (though a bit claustrophobic), and has the only other poker room besides Harrah's. The Tropicana also is low-roller--don't eat there, though. Food in Laughlin is generally pretty bad and not particularly cheap.

Meals and rooms at Harrah's are like at CET properties elsewhere: a) expensive and b) pretty good quality. My advice would be to only gamble enough to keep the offers coming and spend all your time golfing. Laughlin has nice courses, much cheaper than in Vegas, and the weather will be ideal.

I find Laughlin is good for about a day/overnight stay...and thats about it.      Theres not much to do there except the casinos.

But one of my luckiest nights gambling ever was at the Pioneer Gambling Hall.    Seemed like everyone at the craps table held the dice for 20 minutes or more.

PJ, the golf is decent but perhaps you don’t golf. We rent a car when we go, just so we are not stuck at Harrah’s.

Driving to Vegas on Sunday and spending a comp night at Cosmo and returning late Monday. If it were not for the free flight and rooms we would probably never venture to Laughlin. Just nice to hopefully enjoy some decent weather for a few days.

Whale place?  Laughlin?

If you take the free flight, they will look at how much time you spent gambling at Harrah's.   I was told some folks spent three days in Las Vegas, and were told by somebody (can't remember...host?) that they may not receive the offers in the future.  Sounds scroungy but they do expect something in return for free flight, rooms.

Just sayin'.  I doubt one day away would affect anybody.

I read somewhere that the average age of Laughlin visitors is seventy. That means that for every teenager who visits, there's someone in their 120's. Just like the summer temperatures!

I would I agree with that on the visitors being 70. Wife and I will bring that average down just a touch as I am 63 and she is 62.

Probably the only tatoos we will see is on military vets.

Kevin Lewsi states "I read somewhere that the average age of Laughlin visitors is seventy."

Actually, the average age of a Laughlin visitor is  59.3 years.

Sorry, rdwoodpecker, . . . you'll be raising the average, albeit only slightly.

The linked Study is interesting, . . . and very detailed.

***However, poor old DonDiego cannot verify the accuracy of the visitors' responses.***
