Live from Eugene: No Turds!

I was planning to participate in the Portland protests today, but on second thought, I decided to drive down to Eugene instead. Turned out to be a good move. I got there about 10 o'clock and the crowds were out in full force. There were three separate protests at different locations--that I saw, there were probably more, and certainly, one big one on the University of Oregon campus, which I wanted to see but couldn't get within half a mile of, due to the crowds.

I asked a police officer what the total crowd size was, and he shrugged and said, at least fifteen thousand, but probably more. Every street downtown was jammed.

The atmosphere was more party than protest, more fun than anger. There were a lot of signs, of course, but also a lot of inflatable this and that--plenty of Trump balloons and such, but also dinosaurs, pumpkins, and other oddities. My favorite signs:

NO TURDS

and

NO KINGS NO RAPISTS NO CROOKS NO LIARS NO TRAITORS

(with a portrait of Trump yelling at somebody)

I saw no counter-protestors. In other cities across the US, MAGA terrorists have pointed guns at the protestors, driven their pickup trucks into crowds, and attacked marchers and tried to take their signs. I sincerely hope that no one was hurt today due to ugly MAGA violence. Eugene... everything's cool so far.

This was a great experience. I love this city, for its beauty, its culture (a college town on steroids), and above all, its tolerant atmosphere. In fact, it's been voted the most tolerant LGBTQ+ city in the US multiple times

And yes oh yes oh yes, Eugene is very liberal. What's the consequent vibe? Everyone is really, really nice. I've never been anywhere so welcoming; I've never seen so many instances of people helping and being kind to one another. The MAGAs who infest this forum should visit and find out what it's like to be in a city where everyone isn't an asshole

(Cue ignorant, nasty comments from Millerscum et al.)

This sums today up -- May be an image of ‎text that says '‎on หวร RUST ME. ت PESIST RESIS RESIST NO KINGS ألا_لعه Read the article at BabylonBee.com Millions Gather To Express Total Ignorance About Political System‎'‎

There are no David Millers in Eugene. The stink would be immediately noticeable.

"Total ignorance"???  I think people see things for exactly what they are.  Anyone who paid attention in history class in high school can recognize what's going on.

I do find "No Kings" to be objectionable, though.  "No dictators" fits better.

Are you really that fucking stupid?

If President Trump was a dictator the protests would have not been allowed.

Which party selected as their presidential candidate a person who did not receive a vote?

A) He made multiple loud noises about sending troops to disrupt the "unlawful violent radical left wing Antifa belch grunt snort" protests, both back in June and now. Remember, stupid Tom, the protests are about the Turd TRYING and WANTING to be a dictator, not always SUCCEEDING. Stupid Trump-licking Tom.

B) Dictators don't always prohibit dissent. And it would have been a practical impossibility for the Turd to prevent these nationwide protests anyway.

Stupid Tom.

Well, you have to realize that Millerpig's post was reflexive and made without thought, as he just spent two minutes rummaging around the rectum of the internet, and that post looked good to him because he thinks that any opinions that differ from his are lies or ignorant.

The parallels between 2025 America and 1933 Germany are numerous, obvious, and frightening.

I guess you find "kings" objectionable because there are still quite a few kings out there and most if not all are powerless and/or benevolent, but I think the moniker fits Trump because of his arrogant demeanor and his continuing assertions that the rules do not apply to him.
