Liz Cheney in the Deep State

Liz Cheney is not right wing enough

SHe's never met a liberal or liberal policy she liked.....but she wont acknowledge the debunked conspiracy theory that led to the January 6th Capital riot.      That makes he unqualified to have any kind of leadership role in today's Republican House caucus.

The top-dog for Republicans in the House, Kevin McCarthy, has had it with her.

Because she wont tell the insurrectionist lie

QaNon is no longer a fringe group that you see on blogs, message boards, and Trump rallies.  They now rule the Republicans in the UNited States House of Representaitves.

That's why I refer to them now as the RepubliQ.

The hilarious part is that Liz Cheney, over the years, has been one of the most loyal conservative propaganda-spouters around. She enthusiastically supported Trump's "birther" conspiracy, for example. Now, because she's decided (for whatever reason) to acknowledge reality, her former ideological colleagues have turned on her like a rabid wolf pack. It's fun to watch.

I can't help but draw a comparison to the Nazi Party in 1933. After Hitler took power, he purged tens of thousands of the Brown Shirts who had helped him get there. One of the very first things that authoritarian regimes do after seizing power is purge the ranks of those followers who are insufficiently loyal to the party orthodoxy. The RepubliQ have obviously read the playbook.

Cheney is extremely conservative and voted with Trump policies almost every time. Stefanik, her presumed replacement, is considered the fourth most liberal Republican in the House.

But Stefanik is loyal to Trump, and policy doesn't matter. It's a cult of personality.

Its official.  Liz Cheney is out and the "Stop the Steal"  sycophant is in.

If one is elected as a leader and those who they lead no longer agree with said leadership, one should be and will be removed......unless you are Nancy Pelosi and you threaten and blackmail your followers.

It certainly wasn't a disagreement about policy.   Liz Cheney's voting record is more in line with Republicans than her successor.    But Chemey doesn't agree with the debunked lie about the stolen election....and that disqualifies her from being a leader in today's Republican party.

Liz will have the last laugh.

You really think so? It's looking like they want to roast her on a spit. All for the heinous, horrible, unforgivable crime of refusing to propagate a RepubliQ lie! Clearly, there are some things up with which they will not put.

I do so dearly love seeing the RepubliQ party start to eat their own. The purges are just beginning. There will be numerous tests and examinations to detect, weed out, and punish thoughtcrime.

Also, Candy, Stefanik, her ostensible replacement, has gone full-throttle Trumper and is willing to spread her legs for her RepubliQ masters. They want someone more compliant and mendacious than Cheney, and Stefanik appears to have no morals, scruples, or common decency. So, she's perfect for a high leadership role in the new, modern RepubliQ party!

I'm sure it seems wonky to accept that a Republican is doing something good, but consider this:  Now Liz is a threat to the Trump minions, how far they will go to perpetuate lies about the election.  He is an embarrassment to the party, surely.  Liz is still in her House seat unless Wyomians oust her.   She won't be silenced, it appears.   As she said in her speech, "Remaining silent and ignoring the lie emboldens the liar."  It is a new day for Liz.  Something of real interest happening in DC, IMO.   She just may have the last laugh.  Somebody needs to work to restore what was a relevant political party six or so decades ago.   One sided anything is just wrong.

I really, really hope you're right. I mean, it would be nice if people based their political affiliations based on a party's philosophy--even if that philosophy is evil, pigheaded, anachronistic, and racist. At least we always knew where the Republicans stood: big business, corporate profits, white power, "small government" (my ass, but still...), and destroy the environment. Now, the sole element of the Republican party "platform" is fealty to Trump and willingness to support and wallow in his lies. That's it. Nothing else appears to matter to them.

It's not like that approach isn't working! A President who was by far the least competent and most corrupt in history and showed signs of mental disintegration on national TV still got 75 million votes! It's evident to me, though I hate it, that a significant slice of the electorate is stupid enough to follow a bizarre cult leader and doesn't give a rat's ass about policy or the rule of law.

Consider the chimp shit that's been thrown at Romney for his impeachment vote and his refusal to adopt the prevailing RepubliQ lies. It's not as if he's turned into a bleeding heart liberal or anything. He just doesn't worship the cult leader, and that counts for all.
