I haven't had the dinner buffet, but the brunch is pretty average, but not bad. Ameristar is better and Monarch is supposed to be much better, but I don't play at Monarch.
In summary, you can find stuff that you'll like.
I'm curious, what kind of offers did you get from your last trip? Since you're further from the Blackhawk they may be more generous? Were they mailers, email, or on the apps?

I got fliers from both The Lodge and from Gilpin. Each sent me two $10 free play offers for September. One was before Sept 23 and the other after. From The Lodge, I received a free buffet coupon. From Gilpin, I got a $12 food voucher for the restaurant. Also, I got $5 free play that I can use at either casino.
