Yes, it will. I suspect at some point the rule will have to be reinstated but I am going to enjoy it while I can.
Pretty sure I got the omicron variant last week...I did not get tested but had several symptoms. Mostly fatigue.
Its going around like crazy now but its not a big deal if you are vaxxed. I know of 6 other people in my inner circle who got it too.
The only thing I'd be worried about flying without a mask is if you get COVID it might put a crimp in your vacation if you end up sleeping in the hotel room all day =)
I expect mask mandates to be reinstated for flights originating in the northeast. Since the FAA is a federal organization, it, not the individual states, sets the rules for interstate travel, and it uses guidance from the CDC to help make its decisions. So hopefully, this would be immune to individual state politics.
If you go on a Vegas trip (and you fly), your time on board the plane is the most hazardous for disease transmission (and that has always been true--flu, common cold, etc.). So I wouldn't mind at all if mask mandates were permanent during flights. I can stand it for a few hours.

I will be flying to Vegas in a couple of weeks. My mask will be on in the airports and in the casinos at certain times where there's a crowd. That being said, I'm glat to be rid of wearing one constantly as I got my shots.
Jet Blue says their air is 99.97% clean. It is amazing how long it takes to eat a 12 inch subway & 32oz drink when one is on a plane.
When I was in Vegas last week 90% of the people don't wear masks now. People don't want to wear them & there is little need for them
Lots of food for thought. Makes me debate if I want to put one on when I board the plane. As PJ said, I hate to spend my time in Vegas in the hotel bed sick. I wouldn't put one on the way home though. I have plenty of vacation days banked.
