Low Roller Advantage Play Video Poker 2024 Results

I just finished tallying my results for 2024 on an advantage play video poker opportunity I stumbled upon in March of 2023, combined with some slot vulturing and an online sportsbook offer I found.

I’m not a sports bettor but I make the minimum bets required, taking big favorites on moneyline bets to collect casino cash and free bets. I don’t include Vegas trips in my results because I use my gambling bankroll locally, and use vacation funds for Vegas, although that doesn’t mean I’m not looking for good opportunities when playing in Vegas, I’m just much stricter playing locally.

In 2024 I made 51 visits to the local casinos, playing 98,687 hands of video poker, which equals $246,717 run through the machines. I calculate a 100.7% advantage, although on average it’s probably higher, if I’m getting crushed on a session I’ll sometimes quit before reaching my max play number.

I've hit 2 Royal Flushes this year, based on the number of hands I played, on average I should have had 2.45 Royals, so about on average. I didn't hit any Royals in 2023, I had a 13-month Royal drought, which was rough. Going back to March 2023, I've played 192,123 hands, which on average I would expect to have had 4.75 Royals, I'm hoping the average starts working in my favor! In contrast, my wife, playing the same amount as me has had 7 Royals, sometimes that can piss me off. (just kidding or maybe not).

For the year I won $1,256, received $3,180 in comps, and $4,930 in free play. I earned two 3-night hotel comps in Vegas, and I’m on pace for a free cruise comp spring of next year, my wife will also earn a free cruise comp.

So far, it’s working out pretty well!

Without endangering your play, can you tell us what +EV opportunity you found? Pickings outside Vegas are pretty slim, due primarily to lousy pay tables that can't be overcome with promos.

I'm impressed Max. I'm definitely not at your level.  Last year, I had two Royals within 6 weeks of each other. The first was in Mesquite and the other was in Black Hawk.  Those were my first in 27 years.  I enjoyed playing locally for the first time in 2024 and enjoying their flyers.  Take care

Im impressed by the Royals.  I have a hard time playing VP for more than 45 minutes at a time.   My attention span cant hold up.     I only had one royal - and that was on a multi play machine so it was diluted by all the other lines  =)

Im glad somebody is winning  !   Nice score on the comps too.   SIlverton finally sent me some offers from my play and I got a note from Tuscany that they will be incentivizing out of state visitors more in 2025.    I dont play much there but I do like their rooms and pool.

Thx PJ.  I understand why you can't play for a long period.  I have CMPS that makes my right shoulder feel like it's on fire after 30 min. Thx for the info on Tuscany.  They have some 9-7  DB pay tables there.

Like I said it's a very low roller play, the casino I frequent is big on free play promos, and they have one that they do weekly. If you run through $2,000 you can do a kiosk game where the minimum win is $35, then they overlap their bounce-back money on one day, so I would get $60 to $80 in free play. They have $0.25, $0.50 and $1.00 full pay BP and JoB single-line machines, that is exclusively what I play.

They also do many random free play promos, this Saturday they're doing a promo they run from time to time, for my tier level, it's run $1,000 through and get $20 free play and you can do it 5 times. So $5,000 = $100 in free play. I play until I'm at a 100.7% return and stop.

I use all of the casino cash I earn for VP play, the sportsbook casino cash is $40/month, so I often have $100 up to $180 of free play when I start playing. I only use casino cash I earn for playing video poker.

We go up to the casinos and earn our free play in the mornings, stroll around town vulturing slots(most times nothing, we're very selective), have a comped lunch, run our free play once through a machine, and head home. Usually home by 1 or 2pm. Then do it again the next week.

Thanks, Robert, it's a really fun hobby for my wife and me and, so far, profitable, I hope the casino doesn't change it too much. Congrats on the Royals, may there be many more to come!

I can usually play an hour and a half at a time, take a break, then play some more.

I posted my latest M Resort offer from their app in the "Deals, Comps, and Coupons" area of the forum. Have you seen anything from them?
