Ask Venezuelans how much they enjoy Socialism.

Or US Soybean farmers !

There hasn't been a more socialist president in David MIller's voting lifetime than Donald Trump....but David doesn't really know what Socialism means beyond it being something he thinks is insulting to lefties.

The hypocrisy of the criticism is only eclipsed by its hilarity.    Kinda like when Tom complains about Obama playing golf.

Once again, apparently liberals are having trouble addressing my question, to wit, " Ask Venezuelans how much they enjoy Socialism". There is nothing in my question concerning U S Soybean farmers or President Trump. Apparently the liberals here refuse to answer my question because they know that Socialism, which is the type of government currently in Venezuela, is a complete disaster. More dodge and deflect tatics being used again, as expected. And so it goes...

I dont know anybody in Venezeuela....  but I do know you.   And I know we have socialist policies under our current administration that run contrary to your rant  which I am quite positive you dont understand.

Hence your hypocrisy...and my post....and the  thrill of watching you stomp your feet like a toddler.

Rant? What "Rant"? I just asked a question that apparently none of the liberals here wish to answer. The other policies you refer to have nothing to do with my question. If you do not wish to answer my question, then I suggest you need not reply. Fine with me. But if all you want to do is change the subject, then I will decline to play your game of "change the topic".

The "change to topic" is a very common theme.

You did not ask a question - you gave a directive for me to ask a question.

I wont ask you a question - I'll just explain your disposition because you are too afraid to confront your own hypocrisy:

Like all of Sean Hannitiy's audience Boilerman and David Miller  love socialism - so long as its sponcered by Republicans.  They just dont have the courage to acknowledge it.

When someone points out socialist policies sponcered by Bernie Sanders then David MIller and Boilerman run to their favorite, irrelvant analogy - the banana republic dictatorship of Venezeula.   But when you point out the socialist polices sponcered by Trump they go hide under a rock.   (Just like this thread)

For the record, I do know hundreds of people in Canada who have the same Socialist Healkthcare system many Democrats favor in the US.   I've yet to meet one of them that would like to trade their Socialist System for ours.   And as for the narrative about Candaians having to wait months to see a doctor....well, they universally call bullshit on that too.

Meanwhile, . . . in Chicago . . .

Will Chicago Be the Largest U.S. City to Declare Bankruptcy ?

Oh, . . . by the way, so far as poor old DonDiego knows Chicago is the only city which has a website devoted to documenting the many shootings which occur within the City: HeyJackass !

The site includes details of each shooting and categorizes each event by, among other things, where the bullet hit the body:  f'rinstance, the "Shot-in-the-Ass-O-Meter", and the "Shot-in-the Junk-O-Meter".  It also identifies the Chicago neighborhoods by gun-homicide-rates, . . . a significant aid for the out-of-town tourist.

My sister and then-husband were moved to Canada when he worked for Proctor and Gamble decades ago.  She remains in Canada to this day, has some sort of dual citizenship.  Has kids/grands there, but otherwise she is and has always been highly satisfied with the health care system, has no desire to move back to the US for that reason.  Never had a long wait for anything.  Raised four kids there.  Her husband had a busted worn out aortic graft for which he was airlifted from one major medical center to another (both in Canada), several surgeries, months in ICU.  Minimal expense.

Just sayin' since she would agree with what PJ wrote.  When we had a big family visit in Canada my dad developed some heart palpitations.  Took him to a hospital ER where they checked him out for around 3-4 hours, many blood tests and other stuff.  Thought we'd be charged a fortune since they don't take US insurance or Medicare.  The total?  $120.  And they were great, professional and friendly to boot.

This is more typical Trumper nonsense. Who cares about Venezuela? How is it relevant?

I get the Trumper "logic," of course. Venezuela is a mess. Venezuela is a socialist country. Therefore, socialism is bad. It's like saying, everyone who eats apples dies. Therefore, apples must be bad for you.

As to whether anyone here is able to "ask Venezuelans blah blah," I doubt that anyone here is able or willing to do that--and what would it prove?

The reason why Stalker's questions don't get answered has a lot to do with the nonsensical nature of those questions.

The false narrative, "You have to wait thirty-seven years to see a doctor in Canada" is really the only weapon conservatives have in their arsenal. That gets bleated a lot for that reason.

I'd like to point out that more and better health care could be provided without the need for insurance companies to make a profit. For every dollar spent on health care, X cents goes to the insurance companies. Also, X cents is wasted on billing and paperwork. The savings from eliminating insurance company profits and the administative wastage associated with dealing with insurance--that alone would save tens of billions a year.

Republicans have to claim that health care in Canada, Europe, etc. is poorer than in the US in order to justify their opposition to a single-payer system. But that's bullshit. Furthermore, there are still people in the US who don't have access to health care. They get sick; they stay sick; they die. That doesn't happen in Canada.
