DonDiego wrties :
"Well, it (Socialism) apparently didn't help avoid it (Venexuela's spiral into economic crisis).

Neither did Liberia's adoption of capitalism.
But for people who are interested in looking at modern, western democracies there is this: The American Dream is a helluva lot easier to achieve in Socialist Denmark than it is in the United States. No wonder Donny Treason wanted to buy Denmark !
Forbes : The US sucks at that whole social mobility thing

So in other words, the US educational system, dominated by Democrats does a lousy job of preparing tbeir students for life.

I was about to post that you are incorrect.....but then I realized whatever US school(s) you attended did not teach you graph literacy. SO maybe you're onto something there
And the leftist insults keep on coming....
I totally agree that the sad fact that Trump got more than fifty or so votes underscores serious flaws in our educational system.
Our resident Trumpers presumably attended elementary school (albeit over and over), so clearly, the system failed them--accounting for both their ignorance and their anger.
Again Kevin has nothing but insults. As if that registers anything here.

The US educational system is "dominated by Democrats"? I wish it was--people don't get good educations when taught by Republicans--but it's not.

Wait a minute. How can Healthcare still be an issue in the USA? Didn't President Obama and the Democrats fix that? Didn't the Affordable Care act save American Families $2,500 a year? Didn't it bring the uninsured afforadable coverage through 600+ billion a year in taxpayer subsidies? How can tens of thousands of American citizens die each year from lack of access to medical care? Obvioiusly the answer is that Obamacare didn't fix the system.
Now Democrats now want to scrap President Obama's signature accomplishment and try a grand new experiment. What's the slogan going to be: "Vote for us because we can really fix the same thing we already fixed".
Nobody ever claimed that Obamacare fixed everything. The Democrats who passed it said it was an intermediate step. They wanted single payer, government-run insurance. But Republicans screamed long and loud that the inferior classes were about to get health care. So to mollify them, the Democrats created the "marketplace" version of Obamacare. It wasn't what they actually wanted, but they wanted to allow for Republican desires--which seems pretty naive now, given that Republicans have repeatedly shown that they're absolutely unwilling to compromise on ANYTHING.
If Democrats assume power, they MAY attempt to implement a single-payer option, or they may broaden and expand the existing ACA coverage. They'll be trying to improve the system, one way or the other.
You do show a fundamental misunderstanding of what Obamacare is--as is true of most Trumpers. It's an INSURANCE exchange, not a taxpayer-subsidized program. People pay to be enrolled in it. The Medicaid component (free or low-cost health care for the poor) existed for decades before the ACA was passed.

Umm, . . . the actual statistics indicate otherwise.
All categories of "Teaching" are represented by a Democrat majority.
With respect to higher learning, "Academia" is skewed more dramatically Democrat.
Ref: Democratic vs Republican Occupations
Overall, the most Democrat-dominated fields are "Social & Environmental" occupations, e.g. Activist, Social Worker, and Union Organizer.
The most Republican-dominated fields are Miner, Oil Worker, Petroleum Engineer, and Mining Engineer.
