Hillsboro is a large suburb west of Portland. On Saturday, the No Kings protests, rather than being in one centralized location, were strung out along the main highway going east-west through town. There were about 1,500 protestors in this area.
We have an AM talk radio MAGA outlet here in Portland. I never listen to it--they're particularly unhinged--but this morning, I hit the wrong button on my car radio and the search function took me to Ass Radio.
They were interviewing some guy who had supposedly driven down that highway and observed the protestors. He sounded kind of old and his voice was mushy, as if he was having medical problems in articulating his words. Anyway, this is what this "eyewitness" "reported":
"At least eighty percent of the protestors were over 70 years old." REALLY?
"There were signs advocating violence." When asked to provide an example, he said, "Wellll....there was a sign saying "86 47." The interviewer clarified that this was shorthand for "Ban Trump." Mr. Mush then said that 86'ing could be violent.
"There were a couple of women shouting "HEALTH CARE FOR ILLEGALS!" Somehow, I doubt that...
"A bunch of folks were wearing "Kill ICE" T-shirts." Photos, please...
"They blocked traffic for several hours." And yet, he got through...and Hillsboro police said afterward that the protests didn't impede traffic.
"It was only crazy liberals." Sure...he stopped and talked to every participant. Sure.
The local MAGA radio must have been pretty desperate, to dredge up this mush-mouth mush-brain lying asshole. But I have no doubt that our local MAGAs who listened to this program bought every word of it.
Oh, I forgot that he also reported "Antifa flags." When asked what those flags looked like...
