And so it appears that once again I am correct. This time in my guess that Balmer attacked the Governor, not because he was a Democrat Governor, but because he was a Jewish Governor who supported Israel.
"Balmer called 911 early Sunday morning after the fire at the governor’s residence, and said Shapiro needs to know he “will not take part in his plans for what he wants to do to the Palestinian people.”
“I can’t speak to it directly because it’s not of record,” Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo told CNN’s Jim Sciutto on Monday when asked if antisemitism motivated the arson. “We’re looking at the possibility that it was geared towards the governor’s religion and his views on Israel,” continued Chardo.
While most Democrats are appalled by this hatred and antisemitism, there is clearly a faction among the young and far left that think this kind of political violence is justified in support of their causes. Like Luigi against the health insurance industry or Trump because he's Hitler or now Shapiro because he's Jewish and supports Israel.
Here's a recent study on attitudes toward political violence.
NCRI Assassination Culture Brief
"The reports found widespread justification for lethal violence - including assassination - among younger, highly online, and ideologically left-aligned users"
"These effects were largely driven by respondents that self-identified as left of center, with 48% and 55% at least somewhat justifying murder for Elon Musk and President Trump"
The study indicated that part of this culture shift could be rooted in some glorification of political violence such as support for Luigi Mangione. I'm sure there's some of this happening on the other side of the political spectrum too because the young, mentally ill and weak minded are easily influenced and controlled. In any event it's a worrying trend.
