In the meantime it’s sabotaging our economy.
If Nancy Shumer wanted to end the shutdown all they have to do is meet the president halfway at $3 billion. The money could come from reducing the Congressional earmarks.

I'd rather spend it on earmarks.
ANd I dont condone any legislation of any kind being passed in the context of holding the government hostage. Or Maybe Nancy Pelosi should keep the government shut down until Republicans agree to Single Payer healthcare? Would that be a responsible use of her power?

Liberals have given up on the concept of compromise
Compromise is a give and take. What do liberals get in return for funding Trump's Wall that was suppossed to be paid for by Mexico?
There was a bi-partisan compromise on immigration a few years ago that gave money for border security and addressed DACA. But the alt-white cant stomach the concept of amnesty unless its in the context of giving Joe Arpaio a pardon.

That is rich Tom. That bill that was passed in the Senate during the last days of Republican control of the House was the compromise. Congressional leaders negotiated it with give and take from both sides. Trump agreed to sign it. Then after it passed in the Senate, Ann Colter and Rush Limbaugh said mean things about Trump. At that point, he reneged on the deal. That is why Mitch MooConell is hiding in his shell. He doesn't want to negotiate with the Democrats and cut a deal because he is afraid Trump won't honor it. Plus, congressional Republicans don't want the wall, so they aren't offering any concessions to get it.
Trump is simply making demands now. You may have forgotten Trump also reneged on the last deal he made to fund the government with money for the wall. After Trump agreed to the deal, he changed his mind because some conservatives complained about the dreamers concession.
Given that history, why would any Democrat want to cut a deal with Trump? Hell, he doesn't honor the deals he cuts with those in his own party. This mess is of Trumps own making. As he said on TV, he owns it.
