Medicare and food stamps: 20% cut coming

Republicans put themselves in quite an interesting little corner.

It turns out "cutting government spending" doesnt really impact the deficit unless you cut spending in the military or safety net programs.    Thats a lesson most intelligent people understood already - but MAGA had to go through the embarrassing DOGE exercise to learn how math works.

Soooooooooo......Republicans are left with either massively cutting the safety net programs or just piling on to the deficit by trillions of dollars....or some combination of both.

I suspect some combination of both.   I've been laughing at Republicans for years about their bullshit claims of fiscal responsibility.     If you erased all of the Republican legislation from the last 25 years we would have a balanced budget today.

I'm always amused and alarmed, in equal measure, by how conservitards, historically, and MAGA, presently, have thought that slashing social programs saves money.

It's exactly the opposite! Scraping people off the sidewalk is much more expensive than giving them basic medical care. People driven to desperation because they have no food will commit crimes to stay alive. Even if you have no compassion or human decency+--like Millerscum or stupid Tom--- you should support social welfare programs, because they save money in the long run.

I realize that what I just said is beyond MAGA's understanding.

Its a question, not a statement - hence the "?" at the end of my sentence.

I know you're a big deficit hawk.   We had to suffer through your non-stop Facebook posts for 5 months during DOGE.    So Im just asking what your official expectation is of the pending bill....or do you need to go find someone on Facebook to tell you what to think?      (Another question mark there)

You expect the Biug Beautiful Bill to be "deficit neutral" or "deficit reducing"  correct?

The unnecessary war in Iraq cost $3 trillion.  The Bush and Trump tax cuts added $10 trillion to the deficit.  Plus, the population 65 and over has increased 13.4% (from 2020 to 2024) while the working population has grown only 1.3%.  That's far more of those who the taxpayers subsidize especially since taxpayers pay 72% of the cost of Medicare Part B and 73% of the cost of Medicare Part D.  A study was conducted in 2022 that showed a person who worked 45 years, paid the maximum into social security, and retired at their retirement age of 67 would get everything they and their employer paid into the program in 9.2 years.  Then it's welfare.

But why does MAGA always focus on TERRIBUL GUMMINT SPENDIN' when their tax giveaways contribute far more to the deficit? They're always railing about that, right? So why do we never hear from them about how cutting corporate taxes in half has added and will add trillions to the deficit?

Is it because people would get pissed if MAGA admitted that they have to wait days or weeks for basic health care and can't afford food, just so a billionaire can buy himself another luxury yacht?

The Bush and Trump tax cuts added $10 trillion to the deficit.

Proof? The $10T is equivalent of 3 years if tax revenue, so this might be stretch.

Nobody can explain how spending went up from $4T in 2017 to 6.7 now; an increase way over 50% and the inflation rate.

Tax revenues increased despite the cuts

Plus, the population 65 and over has increased 13.4% (from 2020 to 2024.

People over 65 contribute 15% of the tax revenue

I can explain how spending went up Tom.

The Obama administration went through a spending sequestor.     Im sure you werent in a coma when it was instituted but here's the CLiff Notes anyway.

Obama Spending Sequestration

Upon taking office in 2017 Donald Trump and the Republican COngress' first order of business was to throw that in the garbage and ramp up government spending.

And its worth noting Tom spent all 8 years of Obama's tenure crying about spending.....and then he went on radio silence for the 4 years of Trump increases.....just like he's doing now in the context of the current administration.

Cool, huh?

The post you refer to was a single sentence, ending in a question mark. And it was a question for you to answer, not any kind of "claim"--and of course, you weaseled away.

God, you're STOOOOPID, Millerscum. You of all people criticizing someone's punctuation and sentence structure!! LOL!!!!!!!!

Look moron, this is the actual post PJ made, and it was not just a "single sentence, it is two sentences. -- Originally posted by: PJ Stroh Just so we're clear about what your official predicition is David....
