You can't judge someone who advocated canceling the votes of millions on behalf of Trump? You can't judge someone who wants a federal law banning abortion? You can't judge someone who wanted the bible taught in public schools as a historical fact?

I disagree. In today's Republican Party Charles is a liberal among his peers.

So? He supports someone who wants the bible taught in public schools, who wants to invalidate the votes of millions, and who wants to ban abortion nationally. Except maybe for the last few years, that qualifies Charles Higgins as a radical right-winger. And a phony.

In the past he said he wasn't going to vote for Trump and that Biden won the 2020 election.  That's as liberal as it gets in the Republican party. If he showed up at a meeting and expressed those views, they would kick him out.

It's vividly obvious that the only thing MrP 'loves' or approves of is himself. No body else matters to him, particularly the conservative faction. I've never observed a post by him here ( on the issue front) that didn't manipulatively denigrate any and all conservative viewpoints and those who hold and make them. He never practices the common courtesy of allowing his opposition to hold and express their position without making it a personal vendetta subsequently followed by insultive and offensive charges against their character; eventually and consistently  he charges us with having no character at all largely because he simply disagrees with positions.

MrP, I may in some respects be the low-slung gutter slut you charge me with as I'm quite human, but you can't say I stoop to the point where I don't allow your side to state their positions and then subsequently assign some weak-minded personal label to them. I may disagree with them and often do, but I don't sentence them to purgatory / hell as you do. I'll surmize with evidence here that you're a weak, offensive, and insecure individual with an egotist foundation.  In many respects you epitomize and are a good poster child for the cancel culure movement so rampant in the US these days. Those that hold any different position are immediately discounted and sentenced by your kind. Then you pound your chest and claim  "I'm a genius!" and all the rest are cretins. How thoughtful ! You're not into solutions..you're into pouring gas on all the fires and insulting people. Do you practice that in the real world or is that behavior just restricted to this obscure forum where you'll suffer few if any consequences? Are you a big strong guy outdoors, or just when you're in a cloaked and anonymously protected setting? Whom's the phony again?

What business is it of yours what my stances are in the end? Any / all theological beliefs and any issue stance I might have are constitutionally protected..you don't have any control in any way over my choices.You hold not one iota of power over them...you don't pay my bills, buy my groceries, or pick up the dog shit in my yard. Go vote if you hate conservative positions..that's the primary legal recourse for change you have in the end. In the meantime, impress me..go piss up a rope. Then return to your little anonymously obscure cocoon here and resume your manipulative insultive behavior, as that's obviously a primary source of entertainment for you.

Wait. I have seen you make a post or two that didn't involve conservative obliterations. I observed you bragging about your credit score once, and as I recall it was a long - winded post ( I don't care , but you're always accusatory towards me regarding post length). Who in their right mind enters an obscure internet forum and shares/ brags about their credit scores? That's a bit batty. But, congrats on that score.

Let's point out the glaringly obvious difference between ideological positions and simply destructive, stupid beliefs. You, Johnson, and other "classic" Republicans hold various and sundry views on things ranging from government spending to foreign policy to medical care to Confederate statues, etc. etc. etc. IMHO many of those views are misguided and erroneous; some of them, though, I even agree with. You and your buddies have the right to hold them.

Then there are the oppressive views, such as anti-abortion crusades, race-based gerrymandering, gun love, and woke woke woke woke woke virtue signaling that has led to such atrocities as book banning and burning. You and your buddies also have the right to hold those views, but NOT to act (or legislate) on them. The Constitution expressly forbids that. (I include the Second Amendment, even with its recent gross misinterpretation by SCOTUS.) These oppressive views also include violating religious freedoms by attempting to force the tenets of one's own religion on others. Many Republicans are particularly egregious about that.

Finally, there are the simply illegal/unlawful views, such as supporting the insurrection and election denial. No person who did not vote to certify the 2020 election results should be allowed to hold office, let alone be Speaker. Period. No person who supported/encouraged/expressed public approval of the insurrection should be allowed to hold office, let alone be Speaker. Period.

So, Charles, be intellectually honest for a change. MP has never expressed any but mild objections to your conservative beliefs--as long as they are in the first category, above. The oppressive and illegal shit is what he objects to, and your support for those beliefs has been implicit rather than explicit. So: DO YOU OBJECT to anti-abortion crusades, gerrymandering, crusades against gun safety, and the whole anti-CRT, "woke," etc. nonsense? And DO YOU OBJECT to the insurrection and election denial?

And do you agree that anyone supporting the insurrection and repeatedly denying the legitimacy of the 2020 election is unfit for public office? Because that's what MP seems to object to the most about Johnson.

Nope, I'm out. Place is toxic and has exactly zero to do with intellectual honesty. I'm done,  but you folks have fun as you perpetually circle the drain while practicing complete condemnation of those you disagree with. The latter is the true descriptor of the Sink..as practiced by most of the participants most of the time. I'm making a wellness move..*l* and likin it.

Let's all wish Charles Higgins the best of luck in finding his "safe space."

He's a sad case. Obviously intelligent, but with a mind polluted by conservative dogma. He's the poster child for the group we thought would split off from the Republican party when they became the RepubliQ. When Trump oozed onto the political landscape, we thought that there would be mass defections. There weren't. There still aren't (which I find amazing).

I'm not worried about Charles, though. If he hates "big government" and "government spending," he's free to relocate to someplace like Somalia, where the government controls about three city blocks and its annual budget is less than $10,000. And it's a paradise (well, except for all the killing and starvation)!
