Miller is back to his old tricks

Multiple threads started every day. Ridiculously long thread titles so that other threads are pushed off the start page AND people can't block him (his thread titles are actually posts).

He behaved for just about the length of his probation. Now, he's testing the waters to see how much he can get away with.

I've said many times that he has the right to post whatever crap he wants. However, he does NOT have the right to dominate the Sink. You all know that engaging with him is futile. So he's worse than worthless; his presence makes the Sink unpleasant.

I've therefore asked Anthony to bar him from the Sink...permanently. I think he should still be allowed to post on the other forums, because his posts there have been civil and even occasionally informative.

What do you guys think? (And Tom, be sure to say something nasty, embellished with a Tom-lie.)

My first thought, Kevin, is that you are fighting a losing battle.

However, there have been 'threats' in the past regarding consequences for certain posting behaviors (note, behaviors, not individual names) being given a 'last chance' to comply with the rules (of which in the Sink there are no rules, so that may not apply either).  What are actual consequences?  Has such a threat ever been carried out?  Just wondering.

Ever notice in recent times the web sites, portals, etc. that require a subscriber, i.e. you and me, to check a box or something saying "I have read and agree to" pages and pages of 'rules' before accepting the subscriber's registration and use of the site?  Cable companies, for one.  Travel.  Healthcare.  Do companies have their shysters put those together so that in case a subscriber somehow abuses the privilege something can be done about it?

Just thoughts.

Kevin, If I am being completely honest with how I feel.... During those two weeks. In some ways. He restrained himself better than you did.

During those two weeks you were the first one to break the ceasefire with ad hominem attacks and unnecessarily snarky remarks. You drew first blood. 

It really seemed like you were trying to bait him and he did take the bait. 

It's rather unfortunate. You have both proven that you are capable of civil discourse. However you both seem to have a hatred for each other that renders you both incapable of being civil with each other. 

Just my thoughts. No offense or disrespect intended. Please don't take it personally. 

   I feel a response is warrented here. About a week ago I posted that I would continue to make new postings but would not engage with others concerning these postings - and until this post I have not engaged in responding. Since the end of my barring, counting from the 22nd of January thru the 5th of February I have initiated 39 separate posts - an average of less than 3 posts per day - which is considerably fewer than what I used to post. I don't consider that to being dominating the Sink. The titles of my postings are not rediculously long - most are the exact titles that I have copied and pasted from other sources. The "start page" has room for 10 separate postings. Often the postings I make for one date carry over and are found on two pages. There is plenty of room for others to post and I have seen others post multiple times on one day. If Anthony should decide that I deserve to be barred for averaging less than 3 posts a day, then so be it. What I find ironic is that certain individuals, when responding to a post, will write several exceedingly long paragraphs per response and would do the same for several different posts - which is their right. As for my presence in the Sink being considered being "worthless" while making the Sink "unpleasant" -  I do refrain from spewing filthy language, hatred and ridiculing others - which are things others engage in doing often.

Was a thread starting limit placed on Miller or anyone else?  If not, there is no reason he or anyone else should be barred from the Sink.  We all have the freedom to read or respond to the threads, and since I have him blocked, I don't know what he says unless it is quoted on someone else's post.  

That being said, he thread starting count is waaaaay down from where it used to be. 

If we want this to remain a wide open forum nobody should be banned. I wouldn't know what to do without some good chuckles with my morning tea. David Miller aka drmilled has been a wonderful source of amusement for many years.
As part of a rare progressive family in Texas I'm used to the MAGA babble that spews forth constantly all around me. And every time I vote in a statewide or national election my vote instantly cancels out a foaming at the mouth fascist loving "conservative."

Well stated, and I have said to Kevin many times in the past that he 'baits' David.   I didn't want to use names in my earlier diatribe (David is correct...I do go on) , so I posted about 'behaviors' rather than names.  

So, in fairness, since Kevin opened this up, I will answer his question and offer a counterpoint. 

Frankly, the forum posting "behavior" that bothers me the most is not David's. 

It is Kevin's frequent use of the F word and other vulgarity toward other posters by name.   

I'm not such a prude that an occasional F bomb shocks and disgusts me.  But like everything else, with unfettered use it loses any potential for effect and sullies the post entirely.  I feel the same way about stand up comics who pepper their gigs with it.  Too much is too much.

Not campaining for disbarment of Kevin or of anybody.  JMHO about posting etiquette.

I agree that David isn't behaving quite as badly as he used to. However, once his probation was over, he began gradually worsening. Ridiculously long thread titles (again), multiple threads started in the same day, even if other threads on the exact same subject already existed, and yes, calling people who express disagreement with him "delusional" and "liars" and barking TDS TDS TDS whenever anyone criticizes his beloved orange master.

Let's see if he returns to dozen threads a day mode, keeps posting ridiculously long thread titles,  and returns to his default nastiness setting. I agree that he's been restraining himself to some extent, but that's because Anthony spanked him, not because he's had some kind of epiphany.

I don't. You're relatively new here, so you probably don't know that over the years, I've asked David FIVE times if he wanted to call a truce. The first time, he agreed, and 24 hours later, he broke it by calling me a liar liar liar and delusional. Subsequently, he turned down my offers in the nastiest possible way.

I still loathe his political views, his constant apologia for every terrible thing his orange master does, and yes, the way he behaves. Most of all, though, he simply lies and/or repeats the lies of others--i in particular remember that he flogged the "they're eating cats" lie even longer than Vance did--and some of that is so absurd that it's obvious his real goal is to to "post the truth," as he so pompously pronounces, but to start arguments.

Thank you for your reply. You're fortunate to only have seen the artificial Civil David. The normal Nasty David is oozing back. I hope he doesn't shit on you the way he has shat on every poster here--even Candy. 

If you guys all want him to stay, though, I support that as well.

kevin complains about David's threads but right now he has all 10 threads.  Not the first time this has happened; talk about dominating the board.
