Uh, actually, we've called these traitors something else ever since Reconstruction, in an attempt to gloss over reality in order to reunite the country. Not that it's worked.

 

"Political correctness" is what conservatives call common decency when they don't want to employ it. I'm perfectly happy to use alternative language to avoid possibly offending someone--it's not like it takes much effort to do that. But I know conservatives would rather continue to be offensive.
