Two years ago, it was number 11 out of 50 on the list; last year, it dropped all the way down to number 35. Nevada's rankings have been all over the map (so to speak) over the past 10 years, from number 8 in 2020 at the height of the pandemic to number 43 in 2016, with 26 the average ranking. The top five states for im-migration in 2024 were all south of the Mason Dixon line: South Carolina, Texas, North Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee. Arizona came in sixth. The bottom five, all with a net out-migration, were California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
