Virtually every single photograph that is used as part of a video news segment is modified in some way, for any of a variety of reasons. Neither you nor I, nor Yahoo, nor the photographer, have the technical expertise to say why that was done.
But feel free to jump to conclusions and explode like an overripe zit in faux outrage if that gets you off.
